    BADBY With its ironstone cottages, thatch roofs and village greens - the lovely village of Badby is said to be one of the prettiest in the county. South of the village is Badby Wood; famous for its bluebells and then a little further is Fawsley Park, with its beautiful lakes, isolated church and Elizabethan house. Badby Village WALK 1 - Northern Circular Parking is available at the picnic area on the A361, north of Badby. From here a footpath runs south to the village, Badby crossing the River Nene and joining the Nene Way (NW). Continue south to the start of the NW 4 , passing the site of Badby Grange 3 until you reach the village itself, emerging on Chapel Lane. From here you can explore the village with its picturesque stone and thatch cottages, its 14th century church and maybe enjoy some refreshment at one of the village's two pubs. Walk distance 1.9 miles. Approx 1 hour. Steep hill from Badby lies in the south-west of the county, about 3 miles picnic area and to church. south of Daventry. For information about public transport to Badby please Fawsley Hall contact Traveline on 0870 608 2608. Parking in Badby is extremely limited, particularly at weekends. Visitors are requested to park at the picnic area 1 on the A361 north of the village, from where a path leads into Badby or at Fawsley from which paths lead north to Badby. If parking in the village, please do not park on any of the greens and show consideration for residents.     HARLESTONE HOUND Annual Parish Meeting Newsletter Welcome to this Annual Parish Newsletter - it replaces our Annual Parish Meeting. The Parish meeting is usually hosted by the parish council in May and is our opportunity as parishioners to get together to hear about all the work, events, organisations that are part of our parish. COVID prevents us from meeting face-to-face and we felt that Zoom just wouldn’t do it justice. We hope you enjoy this newsletter Harlestone Parish Councillors… “unmute, unmute!” Throughout this year, we’ve all got to grips with Zoom… and now we’ve got the hang of it, we’ll be back to face-to-face meetings! Hooray! Although Cllr Sue Flynn wasn’t able to attend this meeting, we were joined by new councillor Rupert Knowles and Cllrs Russ Francis, Susie Holland, Ken Waller, Tim Cross, Toni Perryman, Sarah Stock and our clerk, Paul Thomas are looking forward to things returning to normal soon. From Russ Francis, HPC Chairman It was March 2020; and we were returning from visiting family in Sydney. Those of you who have made this journey will be fully aware of just how long and very dull and boring it can be, so there was surprise when my mind focussed on a ridiculous news headline which read "Coronavirus leads to shortage of toilet rolls". Our next brush with the impending pandemic was being temperature tested at Singapore airport, but we passed through arrivals at Heathrow without any indication of what was to come. It was only a matter of days before Boris announced full LOCKDOWN! What was in store? What lay ahead? Life without toilet rolls! The local response was excellent, a community shop was established, initially providing doorstep deliveries to those isolated and shielding at home.
