Unlike the SAT, the SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure knowledge in specific subjects such as biology, history, French, and math. They are scored separately on a 200–800 scale. How Are SAT Subject Tests Used by College Admissions? Because the tests are given in specific areas, colleges use them as another piece of admissions information and, in some cases, to decide whether applicants can be exempted from college requirements. For example, a certain score may excuse you from a basic English class or a foreign language requirement. Should I Take the SAT Subject Tests? Schools have varying policies when it comes to Subject Tests; they may be required or recommended for admission or certain majors and programs of study. Your first order of business is to start reading those college catalogs and websites. College guidebooks, admission offices, and school counselors should have the information you need to keep up with the changes. As to which tests you should take, the answer is simple. Take the SAT Subject Tests • on which you will do well • that may be required by the colleges to which you are applying The best possible situation, of course, is when you can achieve both goals with the same Subject Test. Some colleges have specific requirements; others do not. Again, start asking questions before you start taking tests. Once you find out which tests, if any, are required or recommended, determine which will showcase your particular strengths. Colleges that require specific tests generally recommend that you take two subject tests from the following five groups: laboratory science, history, foreign language, math, and English. Check out The Princeton Review’s entire series of review books for the SAT Subject Tests. When Should I Take Them? SAT Subject Tests are generally offered in October, November, December, May, June, and August at test sites across the country. Not all subjects are offered at each administration, so check the dates carefully. You can take up to three Subject Tests per test date. The ideal time to take an SAT Subject Test is when the material is freshest in your mind. So, in the case of World History, take the Subject Test while you’re taking a world history course in school, or soon after the course ends. Don’t postpone the test until the following year. How Do I Register for These Tests? Most students choose to register for Subject Tests on the College Board website at www.collegeboard.org. If you do not have access to the Internet, you can pick up a copy of the registration form (usually available in your school counselor’s office) and register by regular mail. What’s a Good Score? A good score is a score that fits within the range of scores your colleges of choice usually look for or accept. However, if your score falls below the normal range for Podunk University, that doesn’t necessarily mean you won’t get in or won’t exempt from a core course.

Lost Valley of the Dinosaurs ========================================================================== ========================================================================== The war is lost. In truth, the war was lost some months ago, but here in the skies above this place the final nails in the coffin of civilisation have only just been hammered. At the behest of mongrels and their secret masters a second sun appeared in the sky over the city. Now the sounds of life have returned to the bleached white bones of the buildings here, the sounds of rapid footsteps echoing horribly, eerily loudly. Progress is made and in a room deep underground an artifact is discovered. A great heart, one that still beats. Perhaps the people sent here to recover it so that the Leader may live again should have brought Geiger counters? The other occupants of the room might have warned them, but now they exist only as shadows scorched into concrete, testament to the powers unleashed here. ========================================================================== ========================================================================== The Day Today! Across the civilised world, events are afoot! At first, only the more disreputable tabloids bothered with them, stories of strange monsters sighted, but soon the nations of the world found themselves unable to ignore that something of great import was occurring. From nowhere, a fleet of bizarre, advanced and incredibly deadly ships and even great flying Zeppelins emerged and began to indiscriminately raid shipping, pillaging cargo after cargo after cargo before vanishing to.. to where? The greatest minds of Europe have convened across Saloons and Gentleman's Clubs to discuss the matter, men of import make arrangements and wheels are put in motion to track down these mysterious raiders! ========================================================================== ========================================================================== You now have 1000 CP.

I declare that my thesis consists of 85,482 words. 3 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to investigate how American power is adapting to a changing post- Cold War global landscape. It is commonly accepted that many of the most visible cultural expressions of globalisation are American. However, contemporary accounts have proven inadequate in assessing how such forces have helped provide the infrastructure for America’s global dominance. With growing debate over the decline of American influence, the thesis intends to address how American statecraft is attempting to redefine itself for a digital age.
