2) Current Research activities (2001-2018) Musau Kimeu is particularly interested in addressing environmental issues in architecture. His current research activities are centred on the environmental performance of buildings and is currently focused on the Impact of buildings on Climate Change, passive and natural cooling strategies in Tropical Upland (e.g. Nairobi) and Warm-Humid (coastal) climates, Swahili architecture, design with light & natural ventilation in libraries and also acoustic design & natural ventilation in conference halls. 3) Awards and recognition . Energy Management Awards 2015: Architect Musau Kimeu is the Winner of the Green Architect of the Year Award 2015: The Energy Management Award (EMA) is a collaboration between the Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Global Environmental Facility and the Government of Kenya. It is organized and managed by the Kenya Association of Manufacturers through its Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (CEEC). EMA is a forum where all the stake holders in the energy sector in Kenya converge to auspiciously celebrate excellence in energy management. . The competition commenced on 1st September 2015 and culminated with the announcement of the Competition winner and Presentation of Awards on 01 November 2015. . 2014: Member of the International Jury and Rapporteur of the International Architectural Design Competition for the design of the Faisal Islamic Bank Headquarters, Sudan & Al Faisal Cultural Centre in Khartoum in which more than 50 of the top consultancy companies worldwide were invited to participate. The competition was organised by Faisal Islamic Bank, Sudan under the kind patronage 2 of his Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia.
