RYAN COOK • Began the season on the disabled list as he was placed on the 15-day DL March 29 retroactive to March 21 with right shoulder tendinitis…did not pitch in a Major League game during the spring. • Made two rehab appearances with Single-A Stockton April 3 and 5 against Visalia (1.2 ip, 2 h, 2 r, 2 er, 2 bb, 2 so, 1 hr, 10.80 ERA) and was reinstated from the DL April 7. • Was placed on the DL a second time May 9, retroactive to May 8, with a strained right forearm.

COCO CRISP • Was on his 10th Opening Day roster (2004-09, 11-14) and made his ninth career Opening Day start, his fourth straight with the A’s. • Hit his first career game-ending home run April 3 against Seattle…it was his sixth regular season “walk-off” RBI. • Committed his first error of the season April 18, snapping a 145-game errorless streak, which was fifth longest in Oakland history by an outfielder…it was his first error sinceAug. 23, 2012. • His second at bat May 18 at Cleveland was the 5000th of his career. • Had an 11-game hitting streak from May 26 to June 7 (15 for 39, .385).

SEAN DOOLITTLE • Agreed to terms on a five-year contract through the 2018 season with club options for 2019 and 2020, April 18.

SAM FULD • Is the first Athletic to triple in each of his first two games with the A’s since Bob Dillinger did it with the Philadelphia A’s, April 18-19, 1950. • Was designated for assignment April 12 and claimed off waivers by Minnesota April 20.

CRAIG GENTRY • Began the season on the disabled list as he was placed on the 15-day DL March 29 retroactive to March 21 with a lower back sprain…did not play in a Major League game during the spring. • Went 6 for 12 (.500) with two runs, a double, four RBI, a walk and two strikeouts in three games (one in each outfield position) with Triple-A Sacramento and Single-A Stockton on a rehab assignment before he was reinstated from the DL April 12.

LUKE GREGERSON • Was on his sixth consecutive Opening Day roster, his first with the A’s. • Made his 400th career appearance June 19 against Boston.

A.J. GRIFFIN • Began the season on the disabled list as he was placed on the 15-day DL March 29 retroactive to March 21 with a flexor muscle strain. • Underwent successful reconstructive surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow April 30…the surgery was performed by Dr. Thomas Mehlhoff at the Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston. • Was transferred to the 60-day DL May 4 JOHN JASO • Went 0 for 2 in his second game of the season to snap a streak where he reached base safely via hit, walk or hit by pitch in 28 consecutive starts behind the plate dating back to May 4 of last year… that matched the longest such streak by a catcher in Oakland history (Gene Tenace, June 12-Sept. 25, 1973). • Hit his second career pinch hit home run April 14 at Los Angeles (AL)…the other was also at Los Angeles on April 9, 2013. • Struck out four times April 21 against Texas for the second time in his career (also Sept. 16, 2011 at Boston)…also stole a base to become the first Athletic since at least 1914 to strikeout at least four times in a nine-inning game and steal a base…is the first Major League catcher to do it since at least 1914. • Had his fourth career walk-off RBI May 9 against Washington, his first as an Athletic. • Hit his third career leadoff home run May 14 against Chicago (AL), his first since Sept. 4, 2010 at Baltimore. • Had a RBI single in the first inning June 16 against Texas to snap a career-high 0 for 21 streak.

JIM JOHNSON • Was on his sixth consecutive Opening Day roster, his first with the A’s.

ARNOLD LEON • Was recalled from Sacramento May 7 for the doubleheader against Seattle but did not pitch in either game…was sent back to Sacramento following the game.

JOSH LINDBLOM • Was recalled from Sacramento April 2 to start the night game of the day/night doubleheader against Cleveland…allowed two runs on five hits in 4.2 innings for a no decision and was optioned back to Sacramento following the game.

JED LOWRIE • Had a career-high tying 16-game reaching base streak from April 19 to May 6 (also July 26-Aug. 21, 2010)…went 18 for 67 (.269) with six walks and two hit by pitches (.347 on-base percentage) during the streak. • Had a two-run double in the seventh inning against Chicago (AL) on March 12 for his 500th career hit. • Snapped a career-high 0 for 21 streak June 11 at Los Angeles (AL).

BRANDON MOSS • Became the A’s ninth different Opening Day starter at designated hitter in the last 10 years March 31 against Cleveland. • Was hit by a pitch four times in the four-game series against Houston April 24-27, which is the most by an Athletic in a series of any length since at least 1914…in Oakland history, only Don Baylor has been hit at least four times over a four-game span (5, Sept. 23-27, 1976). • Tied a Major League record when he was hit by a pitch twice in the ninth inning April 25 at Hous- ton…it marked the eighth time a batter has been hit by a pitch twice in an inning, the first time by an Athletic • Played in the 500th game of his career April 25. • Went 3 for 5 with two home runs and five RBI May 13 against Chicago (AL)…became the first player in Oakland history to hit a home run as both a first baseman and left fielder in one game. • Matched his career-high with four runs scored, two doubles and three extra base hits May 18 at Cleveland. • Was named AL Player of the Week for the week of May 12 to 18 after going 10 for 22 (.455) with eight runs, five doubles, one triple, three home runs, 11 RBI and five walks in six games…had a .556 on-base percentage and 1.182 slugging percentage…it was his third career weekly honor. • Had a streak from May 13 to 23 where each of his 12 hits were for extra bases (six doubles, one triple, five home runs)…that is the longest such single season streak in Oakland history, breaking the mark of 11 that he set to conclude the 2013 season. • Hit his first career May 30 against Los Angeles (AL)…become the fourth cleanup hit- ter in Oakland history with a grand slam in the first inning…joins Dave Kingman (June 20, 1984 vs. Kansas City), Mark McGwire (June 26, 1997 vs. Texas) and Matt Stairs (June 6, 2000 vs. San Diego)…his second grand slam came nine days later on June 8 at Baltimore…had no grand slams over the first 531 games of his career. • Had 19 extra base hits in May to set an Oakland record for extra base hits in the month of May (previous: 18, Giambi in 2001)…had the most extra base hits by an Athletic in any month since Mark McGwire had 19 in April, 1997…had nine home runs and 25 RBI in May, which were his most ever in a month. • Had his second two-homer game of the season and the sixth of his career June 3 at New York (AL).

DEREK NORRIS • Had a streak of five consecutive multiple hit games from April 24-30 (11 for 18, .611). • Had his first career two-homer game May 11 against Washington and also had a career-high six RBI…both of the home runs were three-run shots…is the first Athletic with two three-run homers in one game since Eric Byrnes on July 4, 2004 against San Francisco…both of the home runs came on a 3-0 count…since pitch count data is first available in 1988, he is the only A’s player with two 3-0 home runs in his career (source: Stats, Inc. & A’s files)…is the first Major Leaguer with two 3-0 homers in one game since Chase Utley on June 28, 2007…the six RBI equal the most by an A’s catcher since at least 1914 (Joe Astroth, Sept. 23, 1950 at Washington; Mickey Cochrane, July 30, 1931 vs. St. Louis). • Hit his first career grand slam May 26 against Detroit.

ERIC O’FLAHERTY • Was placed on the 60-day disabled list February 17 as he continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

JARROD PARKER • Had no decisions and a 10.61 ERA in three spring training starts before it was announced he would undergo Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. • Was placed on the 60-day disabled list March 20 and had the surgery March 24…the surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews in the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, Florida…also had Tommy John surgery October 28, 2009 while a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.

DREW POMERANZ • Is in his fourth professional season and his fourth season in the majors but is on his first Opening Day roster.

NICK PUNTO • Was on his 12th Opening Day roster (Philadelphia, 2002-03; Minnesota, 2004-10; Boston, 2012; Los Angeles-NL, 2013).

JOSH REDDICK • Made his third consecutive Opening Day start in right field and is the first Athletic to make three consecutive Opening Day starts in right field since Ruben Sierra (1993-95). • Had his fourth career game-ending RBI April 19 against Houston, a single in the A’s three-run ninth inning. • Went 2 for 4 with two home runs and six RBI May 16 at Cleveland…the RBI were a career high (previous: 5, two times) and it was his fifth career multi-homer game…one of the home runs was a grand slam, the second of his career (Aug. 31, 2012 vs. Boston).

FERNANDO RODRIGUEZ • Began the season on the disabled list as he continued his recovery from Tommy John surgery…was placed on the 15-day DL March 29 retroactive to March 21. • Went 1-0 with a 1.04 ERA on an eight-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento from April 3 to 28…was reinstated from the DL and optioned to Sacramento April 29. • Was 1-0 with a 0.73 ERA in 11 appearances with Sacramento when he was recalled by the A’s on May 9. • Made his A’s debut May 9 against Washington (1.0 ip, 1 h, 1 so)…it was his first Major League ap- pearance since Oct. 3, 2012 at Chicago (NL). • Logged a 1.13 ERA in six relief appearances before he was optioned back to Sacramento June 1.
