Citrix – How to install on Windows

NOTES: • If the install is on a NON-Bronson computer, the Support Center cannot make or suggest any software or hardware changes to that computer. Support is limited only to “how to” questions regarding the Citrix installation. • The browser for installation on Windows must be Internet Explorer (IE).

Installation Instructions:

1. Open Internet Explorer (IE) and go to https://www.citrix.com.

a. 2. Click Downloads.

3. Under Downloads, Click the drop down box that says Select a product…

4. Click Citrix Workspace App. 5. Click Citrix Workspace App #### for Windows

a. The number may change depending on Citrix’s current version

6. Click Download Citrix Workspace app for Windows

7. Click Run.

8. You may be asked if you would like to allow this app to make changes to your device, select Yes.

9. This window will appear:

10. Accept the License Agreement.

11. Select Install .

12. Once complete, screen appears that says Installation Successful:

13. Select Finish.

14. There are two options to access Citrix:

a. From Inside Bronson Homepage, go to My Applications, log in, and the applications available through Citrix will be listed.

b. Alternatively, you can access My Applications through this link: https://citrix.bronsonhg.org

15. After installation has completed, you can find Citrix by looking near the on your menu bar. To open it if it is not there, go to your Start Menu > All Programs > Citrix > Receiver. These next steps can be used for troubleshooting

Note: You may receive some security warnings when opening a Citrix app for the first time.

Click through these, and select Permit use. There is also a check box to check if you want your choice remembered.

➢ On some Windows 10 machines, the file that is downloaded to open Epic or other Citrix applications is not always associated with Citrix. Follow these steps to fix this issue:

1. Log into My Applications: https://citrix.bronsonhg.org

2. Choose Epic or the application you need.

3. Near bottom of screen, a bar should appear asking ‘Do you want to open or save “file”.ica? (File will be replaced by a bunch of letters/numbers.)

4. Select Save.

5. Next, select open folder.

6. A window will open in Downloads folder, locate the file, and right click it. Once opened, it should have the file highlighted.

7. Look for Open with, hover over it, and another menu should appear. Select Choose another app.

8. Another window will open, near the bottom of it, select apps, the list will expand.

9. Check the box reading Always use this app to open .ica files.

10. Select Look for another app on this PC.

11. You should see a window with some folders in it, and near the top it should say This PC > Windows (C:) > Program Files.

12. Select Windows (C:), then look for Program Files (x86) in the list.

13. Click into Program Files (x86).

14. Click into Citrix.

15. Click into ICA Client. 16. Look for the file wfcrun32, select it.

17. Select open.

You may also run into an error that begins with “Unable to connect to the server”. If you get this message, navigate back to My Applications and try opening your application again.
