Specialised training programmes are being organized at training centers KE.G.E. which deal with all aspects of production, management, health, genetic improvement, housing and the introduction of new technology.

At the end of each year the Annual Bovine Population Survey is being carried out, the results of which are being sent to the European Commission and to Eurostat. According to Annual Survey, which was carried out during December 2007, 56.000 bovine animals were bred in farms. Milk and beef production is estimated to 150.000 and 4.000 tons respectively. On the other hand producer prices are estimated for milk to €49/100Kg and for beef to €282/100Kg. The results are also being used by the Ministry of Agriculture to monitor different aspects of the sector, to make useful comparisons between years and help where weaknesses are being located.
