Short Description of the Course (up to 400 characters): This course examines financial globalization through the lens of the . The central question is how the global money system connects up with the various local public money systems, and how those connections differ between the centre and the periphery. This question concerns how the system is backstopped and managed by national authorities, such as central banks or multilateral institutions.

Part B

Course Aims: The aim of the course is to help understand the professional discourse about the current operations of global money markets. Moreover, one of the most important objectives of the course is to comprehend the institutional structure of the dollar money markets, their connection to capital markets, and the mechanisms of control.
