About the American Quilter’s Society (AQS) The American Quilter’s Society is the largest quilting membership organization in the world . For over 30 years, AQS has been the leading voice in quilting inspiration and advice, through a broad suite of products—magazines, books, live events, contests, workshops, online networks, patterns, fabrics, and catalogs . At AQS, we believe that with inspiration and advice, the creative individual can take their quilting projects beyond what even they had imagined . That is why inspiration is central to everything we do . The leading authors in quilting choose to publish with AQS; the best in quilt artistry select AQS events to display their work; the newest quilters learn from the knowledge and inspiration of AQS members .

To the maximum extent of the law, your attendance and participation, including that of your children and minors accompanying you, in any AQS QuiltWeek workshops, lectures, or special events (paid for or not), is conditioned on your agreement to hereby indemnify American Quilter’s Society, its employees, volunteers, and contractors from and never to make any claim for injury, loss, or damage to you or your children and minors accompanying you, against American Quilter’s Society, its employees, volunteers, and contractors, caused by its very own negligence, strict liability, or for any other reason . By signing the registration form, registering online, or paying for show admission, you agree to the above terms and conditions .

Vintage Made Modern Quilts

Brenda Groelz, Director of Marketing at Handi Quilter, has been collecting quilt tops since she was a young quilting farm wife in Nebraska in the 1980s . Her introduction to online auctions fed her obsession with rescuing quilt tops with the idea that one day, she'd "practice-quilt" them on her longarm machine . That never happened! Members of the HQ National Educators team tackled them instead . Using their own visions, these educators gave these classic quilts a new look with jaw-dropping modern quilting schemes .
