The mace is a gift from the Class of 1984. It was turned from native walnut wood by Robert W. Bailey of Woodleaf, N.C. The mace is a ceremonial insignia of the academic world in a tradition which dates to antiquity. Refreshments provided on the front lawn. Please join family and friends after the ceremony.
