NEW LONDON, CT (9/13-15/85) - Belinda Campos Bearden captured the coveted 7th Annual WPBA Championship 9-Ball Tournament nearly coinciding with her most recent selection as the new President of the WPBA. Bearden tallied wins over Simpson, Laura Smith, Alabama, Haywood, and Debbie Smith before falling victim to Haywood. That loss was soon avenged as she captured the title, a trophy, a Huebler Cue, and $2,100.00. Linda Haywood made a magnificent showing by defeating top seeds Ogonowski, Billing, Bell, and Bearden. In a seguence of events with different opponents, Haywood actually won 19 consecutive racks of 9-ball, a heretofore unheard of accomplishment!
