However, with increasing human populations, human–tiger conflicts (HTC) have increased. Impacts of such conflicts are loss of human life, livestock depredations, and retaliatory killings of tigers. Considering that tiger populations are in decline throughout their range, accurate information regarding the magnitude of the impacts of HTC is needed for tiger conservation. We analyzed livestock depredation data collected over 3 years (April 2008 to March 2011) from villages near the Kaziranga Tiger Reserve (KTR) to determine impacts of HTC. During the study period, we documented 518 livestock depredations by tigers. Cattle (Bos taurus) were the primary livestock depredated, with a mean loss of 1.2 livestock head per year per household. Livestock depredation was highest in winter (χ2 = 74.2, df = 3, P < 0.05) and occurred mostly at night (χ2 = 44.9, df = 3, P < 0.05). The average interim relief amount paid per depredation was US$27.78, whereas the average interim relief amount paid per year was US$4,726.44. We discuss the significance of our findings for mitigating livestock losses by tigers through improved livestock management and the formation of a core team to oversee conflicts and to implement education programs. But only a few detailed studies and sporadic case reports are available on the prevalence of parasites in captive wild animals, and the knowledge of parasites and parasitic diseases in wild animals is still in its infancy. The family felidae comprises the subfamily felinae and pantherinae, and within those are all large and small cats. Most of the available reports on parasites in felids describe helminthic infections, which caused morbidities and occasional mortalities in the infected animals. The parasites most frequently found include the nematodes Toxocara, Toxascaris, Baylisascaris, Strongyloides, Gnathostoma, Dirofilaria and Galonchus, the trematode Paragonimus and the cestodes Echinococcus and Taenia. Almost all the studies identified the parasitic stages by classical parasitological techniques and only a few new studies confirmed the species using molecular techniques. Amongst the protozoan parasitic infections reported in felids: babesiosis, trypanosomiasis and coccidiosis are most commonly found.

Antisemitism 2.0isfound on all webplatforms, not justin right-wing social media but alsoonthe online commentary sections of quality media and on everydayweb pages. The internet shows Jew‐hatred in all its var- ious contemporary forms, from overt death threats to more subtle manifestations articulated as indirect speech acts. The spreading of antisemitic texts and pic- tures on all accessibleaswell as seemingly non-radical platforms, their rapid and multiple distribution on the World Wide Web, adiscourse domain less con- trolled than other media, is by now acommon phenomenon within the spaceof public online communication. As aresult,the increasingimportance of Web2.0 communication makes antisemitism generallymore acceptable in mainstream discourse and leadstoanormalization of anti-Jewishutterances. Empirical results from alongitudinalcorpus studyare presented and dis- cussed in this article. They show how centuries old anti-Jewish stereotypes are persistentlyreproducedacross different social strata. The data confirm that hate speech against Jews on online platforms follows the pattern of classical an- tisemitism. Although manyofthem are camouflaged as “criticism of Israel,” they are rooted in the ancient and medieval stereotypes and mental models of Jew hostility.Thus, the “Israelization of antisemitism,”¹ the most dominant manifes- tation of Judeophobia today, proves to be merelyanew garb for the age-old Jew hatred. However,the easy accessibility and the omnipresenceofantisemitism on the web 2.0enhancesand intensifies the spreadingofJew-hatred, and its prop- agation on social media leads to anormalization of antisemitic communication, thinking,and feeling.

At the same time the study investigates the meaning of “sustainability” in the Indian cultural context, in relation to textile craftsmanship, and how this relates to the Western concept of “sustainability”. Through field research in conjunction with a series of in- depth unstructured interviews, this study reveals that Cultural Sustainability is the dominating narrative in the Indian cultural context due to the prevalence of culturally embedded sustainability practices and the role of textile craftsmanship in sustaining livelihood, being a unique exercise of positioning Indian textile craftsmanship within a framework of cultural heritage as a valuable source of knowledge for sustainable practices in the fashion and textile industry. Unique about this study are the India-centric approach combined with the ethnicity of the subjects interviewed - who are, without exception, Indian nationals, whose work, voice and reputation are shaping India's contemporary textile craft-sustainability narrative (being referred to as the “Indian textiles and fashion elite”) and the framing of traditional craftsmanship from a legal perspective, introducing the notion of legal protection of traditional textile knowledge and traditional cultural expressions.
