For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 2, 2016 NCAA Division I All-Americans TUCSON, Ariz. — The Louisville Slugger NCAA Division I All-American baseball teams and National Player of The Year were announced today by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. The 17-man first team, chosen by performances up to regional playoffs and picked by the staff of Collegiate Baseball newspaper, features 14 conference players or pitchers of the year, including: • LHP Eric Lauer, Kent State (Pitcher of Year Mid-American Conference). • RHP Logan Shore, Florida (Pitcher of Year Southeastern Conference). • LHP Drew Harrington, Louisville (Pitcher of Year Atlantic Coast Conference). • LHP Joey Lucchesi, Southeast Missouri (Pitcher of Year Ohio Valley Conference). • RHP A.J. Puckett, Pepperdine (Pitcher of Year West Coast Conference). • RHP Kevin Hill, South Alabama (Pitcher of Year Sun Belt Conference). • Relief Troy Rallings, Washington (Pitcher of Year Pac-10 Conference). • C Nick Feight, N.C. Wilimington (Player of Year Colonial Athletic Association). • 1B Jameson Fisher, Southeastern Louisiana (Player of Year Southland Conference). • SS C.J. Chatham, Florida Atlantic (Player of Year Conference USA). • OF Kyle Lewis, Mercer (Player of Year Southern Conference). • OF Alex Call, Ball State (Player of Year Mid-American Conference). • OF Ryan Scott, Arkansas-Little Rock (Player of Year Sun Belt Conference). • UT Darick Hall, Dallas Baptist (Player of Year Missouri Valley Conference). Kent State LHP Eric Lauer is Collegiate Baseball's National Player of The Year. He was 10-2 with a 0.69 ERA (led the nation) and struck out 125 batters with only 28 walks over 104 innings. He was No. 2 in the USA allowing only 4.24 hits per nine innings and had a WHIP of 0.74. Incredibly he never allowed more than five hits in any of his 15 outings this season, and he only gave up 8 earned runs all season. Lauer also threw the 11th no-hitter in Kent State history this season. The first team features also one pitcher who led the nation with 145 strikeouts in LHP Joey Lucchesi of Southeast Missouri. RHP A.J. Puckett of Pepperdine put together an amazing two-month streak of 57 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run. The first team offense includes remarkable power, line drive hitters and speed. Nick Feight of N.C. Wilmington put up unbelievable numbers with 90 RBI (first nationally), 21 homers (second), 127 total bases (first) and a slugging percentage of .757 (third). For good measure, he also hit 23 doubles. The following are the first, second and third team Louisville Slugger All-Americans for 2016.
