    ALBERT BICHOT FEATURED IN THE NETFLIX FILM UNCORKED Burgundy is at the heart of the upcoming movie Uncorked, with Domaine Long- Depaquit, property of Albert Bichot, which will be released on Netflix on March 27. Fueled by his love for wine, Elijah enrolls in a course to become a master sommelier, an elite designation given only to a handful who are able to pass its notoriously difficult exam. It’s a dream that upends the expectations of his father, Louis, who insists Elijah take over the popular Memphis barbeque joint that’s been passed down from father to son since its inception. Elijah struggles with the demands of school and a new relationship, while Louis wrestles with the feelings of his son rejecting the family business until a tragedy forces both of them to slow things down. Written and directed by Prentice Penny (Insecure), and starring Mamoudou Athie, Courtney B. Vance, and Niecy Nash, Uncorked is a hilarious and touching drama about a father and son who have to finally learn to listen to one another. THE INFLUENCE OF CHABLIS In the film, Elijah discovers France and falls in love with Domaine Long-Depaquit in Chablis, a renowned wine district in the North of Burgundy. The shooting of the movie took place partly at the Domaine Long- Depaquit. Remarkable estate covering 65 hectares, the domaine is certified HEV Level 3 (High Environmental Value) and supervised by Cécilia Trimaille, one of the few women to manage a winery in Chablis. The vineyards and the winery which are showcased in several scenes, turned out to be an idyllic setting for the director, Prentice Penny.

The post-feminist rhetoric, which surged as a result of the economic boom of the 1990s and 2000s, optimistically embraces consumer freedom, choice and empowerment (Genz and Brabon 2018) and presents women as assertive beings who enjoy their sexual freedom and financial agency. Analyzing two shows that feature senior women as their main characters , whose pilot episodes aired thirty years apart can shed some light on how media have changed the portrayal of senior women and their sexualities. The Golden Girls and Grace and Frankie share enough features to enable us to trace similarities: the leading characters are all white women, middle-upper class American, for instance.

Garden cleanup time: do it now Warm fall weather is encouraging many of us to delay putting our gardens to bed, but late September and all of October are the best times to do it. Some tomato lovers leave their plants in the ground in hopes that their green tomatoes will ripen. It's time to give it up. The same is true for peppers and cucumbers and other garden favorites. Pull spent vegetables and annuals and put them in the composter. (Take good- I hope you enjoy this month’s sized green tomatoes off the branches. Put them in brown paper bags or a box. Check newsletter! regularly for mold or rot. Over days or weeks, they will ripen.) You can leave healthy perennials standing. They can trap insulating snow and Pam and Angie provide a bit of winter interest. But if any plants show signs of disease, pull them Time For Your Life now. Water.
