Flight Sciences International Teams Up with to Find Substantial Fuel Savings After Completing First Phase of Fuel Program

Results Consistent with Flight Sciences’ History of Saving Airlines an Average of 3%-8%

Santa Barbara, CA – December 10, 2012 – Robert E. Callahan, President and Founder of Flight Sciences International (FSI), announced today that the company has successfully completed the first phase of it’s fuel project with UK based Monarch Airlines. The project, conducted in collaboration with Pratt & Whitney (PW), a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company, commenced in April of this year and has resulted in significant fuel savings for the airline.

"Monarch Airlines recognizes the impact fuel can have on the company’s bottom line. After only a few months the experts from Flight Sciences, working closely with our team of experts uncovered substantial fuel savings opportunities. Combined with the savings we have already realized from our use of EcoServices LLC’s EcoPower engine wash service that commenced in 2011, Monarch expects to benefit from these additional savings on an annual basis,” said Kevin George, Managing Director of Monarch Airlines.

“Our goal,” according to Flight Sciences President Bob Callahan, “was to find substantial fuel savings for Monarch over and above what they had been able to achieve with their own internal fuel conservation program and, working closely with the Monarch team, I think we exceeded that goal. In addition to the savings we’ve achieved to date,” continues Callahan, “we will return to Monarch every 6 months over the next 5 years to review and, using our proprietary tracking software, continue to look for additional savings opportunities.”
