Halsted, Chicago, IL 60613 • northalsted.com • 773.883.0500 Chicago Pride Fest June 18 + 19, 2016 Halsted, between Addison and Grace CHICAGO PRIDE FEST Overview: Now in its 14th year, the Chicago Pride Fest is held one week before Chicago's Pride Parade and sees over 150,000 attendees from the Chicagoland area and from across the country. The event’s purpose is to kick off the city’s Pride Week and offer organized, quality outdoor entertainment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. With more the 150,000 visitors from Chicagoland and beyond, Chicago Pride Fest is also one of Chicago’s largest outdoor events and draws an upscale demographic of LGBTQ people with highly disposable incomes. Chicago Pride Fest boasts food and drink and more than 150 vendors offering fine arts, crafts, world market goods and merchandise targeted to the LGBTQ community. Chicago Pride Fest features three music stages where more than 20 top-name local and eight chart-topping national acts perform. National musical acts featured on the event's two main stages have included RuPaul, C&C Music Factory, Linda Clifford, Big Freedia, Jennifer Hudson, Hugo and St. Lucia. There are intermittent, high quality Drag Shows as well as popular local DJ’s, local musicians and performing artists. Chicago Pride Fest has a reputation not only for the best live music and diverse crowds in Chicago, but one of the most popular and unique components of this festival is the Pet Pride Parade- a junior version of the following weekend’s Pride Parade. Proud owners parade their costumed pets on a short route throughout the events’ surrounding blocks. Celebrity judges award prizes. Music stars Jordin Sparks, Dumblonde and Daya will each perform sets this year at Chicago Pride Fest, the Northalsted Business Alliance confirmed with ChicagoPride.com in April. Pride Fest in the Windy City starts on Saturday, June 18 when American Idol Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks performs. Sparks is best known for her duet "No Air" with Chris Brown, and "One Step at a Time," both of which were released back in 2007. On Sunday, June 19, former Danity Kane members Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex take the stage as Dumblonde. Their indie pop debut has strong dance and alternative influences reminiscent of acts like The Ting Tings and La Roux. The procedure is the same except the needle is on a long stick for more accurate pokes, as well as the artist being able to more quickly stick and poke each tattoo. The latest of the tattooing techniques is the standard tattoo machine. It does all of the same functions that stick and poke and hand poked tattoos do at a much faster speed.
