We as a sport Fcouldn’t do anything without those volunteers who provide marshalling and a variety of other vital functions around the track and during a race weekend. To all the officials, category volunteers and those who work hard behind the scenes to make these events possible, we also say thank you. And of course, we should also thank the teams and the drivers – and their sponsors – who lead the charge and give us the action. WAYNE CHRISTIE There is plenty to look forward to this BP Ultimate MotorSport NZ weekend at President, MotorSport New Zealand Manfeild. The best of our club and domestic championships, some great cars and undoubtedly there will be some great action on the track for us all to enjoy once again. The Grand Prix meeting is always a special one and we always seem to see more intense action and drama than usual. It should be fantastic again this weekend. We’re all looking forward to seeing Kenny Smith start an amazing 49th New Zealand Grand Prix too. A legend if ever there was one. It’s been a fascinating first championship season for the Castrol Toyota Racing Series with the new Toyota FT-60 and the races have produced – as usual – some thrilling action and some passing moves worthy of the finest drivers in the world. And that is what this series is really all about – building the champions of tomorrow and preparing them in the best possible way for the season and the seasons ahead. We are the envy of the motorsport world in that regard, as our premier single seater series attracts the very best of the junior champions from around the world. The FIA see that too, and has increased the amount of Super Licence points awarded to the winner of this championship to 10, which makes it a very significant series in world motorsport. Our champion Liam Lawson has been mighty once again this season and has excelled in a field as good as any we have ever seen in New Zealand motorsport. Hot on his heels is the king of eSports and a very handy driver in the real world, Igor Fraga. Igor is one of the best Brazilians to emerge in recent years from a country that has a rich heritage in motor racing icons. We wish him and Liam well as they bring a splendid championship to a close – may the best man win! 2 2 MANFEILD 15 - 16 FEB 2020 | speedworksevents.co.nz TOYOTA GAZOO RACING FT-60 Toyota GAZOO Racing New Zealand’s FT-60 has attracted a lot of attention and will bring full grids in 2020. • F4 Press Release Imola
Imola, riparte il campionato 44 piloti di F4 e Formula Regional in pista dopo la pausa estiva Rome, 29th August 2019 – Italian Formula 4 Championship powered by Abarth and Formula Regional European Championship certified by FIA rr-start in Imola. From August 30th to September 1st the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari will be the scenario of the two championships comeback after the Summer break. 44 drivers will face each other on the challenging twists and turns of the 4.909 m track in the hills of Romagna. The two championships, which represent important and challenging transitions in the FIA ideal route from karting to Formula 1, come back in Italy after a great show on European tracks. Drivers and teams are determined to start at best this last two months of races before the final winners will be crowned. All the rankings are still open; the first edition of the Formula Regional European Championship certified by FIA, sees vigorously the rise of Prema Powerteam, with the Danish driver Vesti strongly claiming his first place, but with 25 points to give per each race and 4 races to go only this weekend, the competition is not over yet at all. The internal battle is with Vesti's teammate, Enzo Fittipaldi, currently second, followed by the German David Schumacher (US Racing) and the e-Sport FIA world champion Igor Fraga (DR Formula by RP Motorsport). Van Amersfoort Racing is represented in this series by Sophia Floersch, the young German driver who showed a surprisingly strong determination and, until now, brought home constantly growing performances during the whole championship.

Wally aboard the Denny Hulme McLaren M23 Work is well in hand for next season. The calendar has been finalised and the tracks booked and HRC are just waiting to finalise with the classes what events they wish to run at before we announce the full list of classes running at each event. Some events are already full with eleven classes which is really the limit we can run at a two day meeting. Some interesting projects coming up including a possible new motoring TV show (f we can get support) and a rerun of the B & H 500. HRC are endeavouring to run Classic meetings and Mixed Meetings as separate events with the classic meetings with older cars and hopefully cars with COD’s. Unfortunately for commercial reasons we have to have some non-classic classes at these meeting to make them viable. The classic meetings are the Icebreaker 28/29th September Hampton Downs, Tasman Revival Hampton Downs 25/26th January, Tasman Revival Pukekohe 22/23rd February, Paul Fahey NZ Legends of Speed 21/22nd March Hampton Downs, Jack Nazer Classic Taupo 25/26th April. At these we will run BMW classes and ERC and while COD’s for these classes are not mandatory the cars competing in most cases could get COD’s. Race meeting organisers do need classes to combine as entry fees cannot keep rising.

  • Tests Paul Ricard, Day 1: Hadjar and Saucy the Fastest
Tests Paul Ricard, day 1: Hadjar and Saucy the fastest The two drivers have ended the day with exactly the same best lap time Le Castellet, 30/03/2021 – The 16 years old French (and Rookie) driver of R-ace GP, Isack Hadjar, and the 21 years old Swiss Grégoire Saucy racing with ART Grand Prix have set exactly the same best lap time of day 1 at the F1 Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet, 1:57.917. Both of the drivers have been extremely competitive in all test days also in Imola and Barcelona, and in the very last part of today’s afternoon session, on a warm track under a sunny sky, when most drivers have decided to go for a new set of tires in something that was really similar to a qualifying session, Saucy and Hadjar have once more confirmed their skills and good feeling with the car. A particular underline must be made for the French driver both for his young age and the fact that he is a Rookie, even though well trained by 3 appointments where he has competed in the F3 Asian Championship. "I feel really confident and happy with the car, and I think much of the credit for the good results is to be shared with my team, with whom a really work excellently", has commented Hadjar at the end of the afternoon session. A great best lap also by the British Alex Quinn (Arden Motorsport), only 0.052 from the fastest two, while the Argentinian Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) ended 0.109 from the lead.
