MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING None REPORT OF The COUNTY COUNCILLOR Cllr M Sutton reported that: - Cllr Robbie Marshall County Councilor for Perton at the age of 56 sadly recently died of a Heart attack. - The Children’s Services for Staffordshire was one of only two rated Good in West Midlands for Children in care etc. - The Council is still looking for people to Foster or Adopt Children, especially those who will take on siblings or older children - South Staffs Lottery has started, when someone goes on line and enters it they can also say where 33% of the entry money gores to which charity. The Flora of Staffordshire, 2011. Update No. 5 (October, 2015). 1. Add itional Herbarium Records. The online project Herbaria@home involves volunteers digitising the information from the herbarium sheets held by museums and universities. The results to date, relating to Staffordshire specimens, have been examined. Not all specimens were correctly identified by the original recorder. In particular the names applied to some Rosa and many Rubus specimens conflict with modern taxonomy. However, there are several important early records not included in this or earlier Floras. As a consequence, the previously thought earliest date for some taxa needs to be corrected; and a few significant later records need to be added. The resulting modified species accounts are given below. CODSALL PARISH COUNCIL MINUTES Council Meeting held in the Parish Chambers, Station Road, Codsall on Wednesday 11th October 2017 at 7.00pm. following Planning Present: Parish Councillors: B Spencer (Chairman), Mrs K Ewart, B Holland, T Jeavons, I Kenyon, N Loftus, Mrs C Millar, Mrs A Morrison, P Wright, Parish & County Councillor R Marshall Three members of the public were present. 1. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION None 4. MINUTES Resolved that the Minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 13th September 2017 be approved and signed as a true record. 5. POLICE REPORT 5.1 Crime and anti-social behaviour figures for Locality 4 – due to the introduction of a new computer programme, the figures were not available prior to the meeting. The PSCO advised the meeting that the following figures are for Codsall only, for the period from 15th September 2017: Burglary residential 3, Burglary business/commercial 1, Theft from Motor Vehicles (TFMV) 1, Robbery 1, Violence against the person 2, Criminal Damage 3, Theft other 3, ASB 3 Cllr Spencer noted that there had been a drastic reduction in the crime figures but was concerned burglary was still high. Cllr Spencer suggested that if Bilbrook’s figures were made available for the next meeting for comparison. The PSCO advised a number of thefts occurred in Histons Hill and Watery Lane. 6. Licence no. 100019422 Map 2: CVHECZ 1 Refined HLC and HER data 1.1.1 Statement of heritage significance The lines of two Roman roads pass less than 200m either side of the zone and the Scheduled Roman forts and settlement of Pennocrucium and the Roman villa at Engleton lie 3km to the north and north west respectively. Prehistoric activity within Staffordshire survives within the river valleys where it lies sealed beneath the alluvium. Consequently it is possible that prehistoric activity may be located within the zone associated with the confluence of the rivers Penk and Saredon, although none to date is recorded on the Staffordshire HER. The historic landscape character of the western portion of the zone is dominated by field systems within the floodplain of the rivers Penk and Saredon whose confluence lie in this area (cf. Map 2). The origins of the field system are currently unknown, but it is possible that this area had provided meadow land during the medieval period. The Map 2 shows ‘Post 1880s Reorganised Piecemeal Enclosure’ to the east of the zone which relates to an earlier field system probably enclosed incrementally in the 16 th or 17 th century 1. -
