Requested EU support: 71.37% The Action aims at removing a bottleneck by replacing a single metric rail track Recommended funding: with a double track standard gauge in the section from Rododafni to Psathopirgos. It is located on the Orient/East-Med Corridor, Athens - Patras rail axis. It is part of a Recommended total eligible Global Project, section from to Patras of Athens - Patras rail axis. The €297 169 357 costs: specific activities include: Panagopoula tunnel construction, infrastructure Recommended funding: €212 089 770 construction in open line sections, local side road network restoration, land expropriations, relocation of public utility networks, archaeology works and Recommended EU support: 71.37% personnel costs. In the long term, the Action will contribute to the reduction of travel time between Athens and Patras by at least 1:25 hour.

The relevance of the Action is very good because it aims at removing a bottleneck in a section located on a core network corridor. The maturity of the Action is very good as it is ready to start from a technical point of view. The impact of the Action is good as it will contribute to reduced travel time, improved service quality, safety and security and interoperability. The Action is of a very good quality as it is logical, complete and clear.
