NWFB Rickshaw Sightseeing Bus Launches Three Routes Exploring Hong Kong from Different Angles （20 October 2017, Hong Kong） Effective from 21 October Saturday, Rickshaw Sightseeing Bus (“Rickshaw”) of New World First Bus (“NWFB”) launches three routes from Central Ferry Pier and extends reach to Yau Ma Tei and Mong Kok, where locals and visitors can take part in an in-depth Hong Kong cultural tour, hop on and off along the way to over 50 most popular tourist attractions in Hong Kong. H1 Heritage Route Showing historic streets and buildings of the city in one go. It tours along Western Market, Queen Street, Man Mo Temple, Old Centre Police Station, Statue Square and St John’s Cathedral. Service hours are 10:00am and from 11:00am to 4:30pm daily. H1A Market Route Bringing passengers to unique outdoor bazaars with a local festive experience. It tours along Tai Yuen Street Market, Bowrington Road Market, Temple Street, Flower Market, Nelson Street Market, Fruit Market and Shanghai Street. The bus departs at 10:30am daily. H2 Night Scene Route Enjoying stunning night views of Victoria Harbour and passing through the spectacular neon sights along Nathan Road. It tours along Golden Bauhinia Square, Temple Street, Canton Road, Nathan Road, Shanghai Street and Causeway Bay. Service hours are from 5:30pm to 8:30pm daily. The Rickshaw continues to offer one day unlimited hop-on hop-off rides at HK$200 for a Two Day Pass, where passengers are free to explore local culture and multiple attractions at their own pace.     LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL PANEL ON TRANSPORT Pedestrian Schemes for Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui Introduction This paper informs members of the details of the proposed pedestrian schemes for Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui. Background 2. At the meeting of the LegCo Panel on Transport held on 25 February 2000, the Administration presented the objectives and the general concept adopted in devising pedestrian schemes with particular reference to the Causeway Bay scheme as illustration. Members requested the Administration to provide details of the Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui pedestrian schemes for information. Pedestrian Scheme for Mong Kok 3. The pedestrian scheme in Mong Kok covers the area bounded by Argyle Street, Nathan Road, Dundas Street and Fa Yuen Street as shown in Figures 1 and 1A. 4. The substantial commercial, retail and other economic activities in Mong Kok generate significant transport needs, e.g. loading and unloading, access by public transport, and access to car parks. To ensure general access to this area will be maintained, the pedestrian scheme targets the streets where pedestrian activities are most concentrated. Sections of Nelson Street and Soy Street between Nathan Road and Sai Yeung Choi Street South are designated as fully pedestrianised streets. In addition, Tung Choi Street and the section of Sai Yeung Choi Street South between Nelson Street and Soy Street would be designated as part-time pedestrianised streets. Vehicles, other than emergency vehicles, would not be permitted to enter the streets during specified hours, initially between 4 pm to mid-night. 5. The rest of the streets within the area would be designated as mixed priority streets.

It has been observed that existing translation studies literature appears to cater mainly for long texts. This suggests that there may be a literature gap with regard to short text translation. Investigating how short texts are translated would reveal whether mainstream translation theories and strategies are also applicable to such texts. Therefore, the objectives of the paper are two-fold. Firstly, it seeks to confirm whether there is in fact a gap in the existing literature on short texts by reviewing corpuses of leading works in translation studies. Secondly, it investigates how short texts have been translated by examining the translation theories and strategies used. This is done by way of a case study on street names in Hong Kong. The case study also seeks to remedy the possible paucity of translation literature on short texts by building an objective and representative database to function as an effective platform for examining how street names have been translated. Data, including street names in English and Chinese, are collected by way of systematic sampling from the entire data population.

    LC Paper No. CB(1) 1006/20 -21(03) For discussion on 22 June 2021 LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL PANEL ON DEVELOPMENT Work of the Urban Renewal Authority PURPOSE In accordance with established practice, the Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) reports to the Legislative Council Panel on Development annually the progress of its work and its future work plan. This paper attaches the report submitted by URA in respect of the progress of its work in 2020-21 and its Business Plan for 2021-22. BACKGROUND 2. URA was established in May 2001 to undertake urban renewal in accordance with the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance (Cap. 563) (“URAO”). The purposes of URA and membership of URA Board are at Annex A. 3. The URAO provides for the formulation of an Urban Renewal Strategy (“URS”), the implementation of which should be undertaken by URA and other stakeholders / participants. Since the promulgation of the new URS in February 2011 (“the 2011 URS”), URA has launched all the new initiatives set out in the 2011 URS and adopted “Redevelopment” and “Rehabilitation” as its two core businesses. WORK OF URA IN 2020-21 AND BUSINESS PLAN FOR 2021-22 4.
