My dear Sir, I was at Hodbarrow yesterday, and discussed the matter of the “tubbing”, with Mr. Barratt – We think, if you will allow us to do so, the best way will be for us to run up to Newcastle to see you, when we could see the Plans, you have so kindly offered to show us, and also [second page, sideways on, starts here] see Sir William Armstrong's people about making the “tubbing” - Would it be convenient for you to see us in Newcastle, either on Tuesday or Wednesday next the 8th or 9th inst?
