NCAA CHAMPIONS UNDER DURDEN GOLDEN BEAR NOTES 2019 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS JULIAN SCORCHES 200 FLY AT PAC-12s 50 Freestyle Ryan Hoffer 18.63 Trenton Julian saved his best for last in the final individual event of the 2021 Pac-12 Championships on March 3, finishing 200 Freestyle Andrew Seliskar 1:30.14 the 200 fly in 1:38.53 to set a new Pac-12 record and a new Cal school record (previously held by Zheng Wen Quah since 200 Breaststroke Andrew Seliskar 1:48.70 200 Individual Medley Andrew Seliskar 1:38.14 2017, 1:38.83). It was the nation’s fastest time this year and ranks Julian as the third-fastest butterflier in NCAA history, 200 Freestyle Relay Pawel Sendyk, Ryan Hoffer trailing just Texas’ Jack Conger and Joseph Schooling. Whitley is the top seed in the 200 breast event after swimming 1:48.53 back in November in 200 Backstroke Ryan Murphy 1:36.75 Cal’s first competition of the 2020-21 season. The time was not only a Pac-12 record & Cal school record, but the third- 2016 NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS fastest swim in history behind Texas’ Will Licon, who swam 1:47.91 and 1:48.12 at NCAA meets in 2017 & 2016. 100 Backstroke Ryan Murphy 43.49 200 Backstroke Ryan Murphy 1:35.73 HOFFER AIMING FOR 50 FREE REPEAT 400 Individual Medley Josh Prenot 3:35.82 Ryan Hoffer is the lone member of Cal’s NCAA squad that has won an individual event at the national meet.
