CALENDAR EXPLANATION वशिष्ठ॥ यशमिन् पक्षे यत्र काले येन 饃嵍गशितै啍यि।् 饃यते तेन पक्षेि कु यााशि镍याशिशनिायि॥् Biggest misconception is “Indian Hindu festivals observance date in the Indian calendar / panchang is applicable for all same time all over the world Hence we need to convert the tithi, nakshatra, yoga, and karana time to local standard location in world”. We use our favorite Panchangam brought from India to find an observance date for an Indian festival. time. After we know what time a given tithi ends it's a time to decide festival dates for each region. In reality observance dates from Indian Panchangam is valid only in India and is not transferrable to other locations. If How festivals are determined? Each festival has a different rule, for example: Ganesh Chaturthi. Sankathara the earth is flat we can use Indian calendar everywhere in the world. If the earth is flat then Sun & Moon will rise all chaturthi, Janmashtami, Mahashivaratri, Karwa Chauth, etc. Ganesha chaturthi has to be oserved when the chaturthi places at the same time, and no need of time zones and hence Indian Panchangam can be used everywhere in the tithi is observed during the 3/5th part of the difference of local sunset and the sunrise. The karwa chauth and the world but the trouble is the earth is round and the Sun does not rise at the same time, or set at the same time all over sankathara chaturthi the chaturthi tithi must be prevailing during the moonrise time. If one thithi is observed at the the world. Additionally, we have time zones and time differenes. Due to the time zones/differences there is another moonrise time in India it may or may not be observed during the moonrise time on the same day in the different part of misconception that as USA/Canada and Europe is behind in time then Festival will come a day later in USA/Canada the world. It may be very well observed on the previous day if you are in America or the next day if you are in Japan, and Europe. This is absurd. If Seattle/Vancouver/California is 13 hours 30 minutes behind Indian Standard Time and Fiji, Australia, or on the same day as India, due to different sunrise times, different sunset, moonrise timings and tithi say an event is occurring in India (For example One day International Cricket match at 8 AM in India then will it be the timings requires a separate panchangam for different places. Panchang makers in India cannot prepare printed previous day in USA/Canada or the next day? To arrive the time you’ll subtract 13 hours 30 minutes from 8 AM. Which panchang for each and every place, increasing printing costs etc. Hence, they just make panchang for the one of the gives 6 hours 30 PM the previous day in USA/Canada. Same rule is applied here. Tithis, Nakshatras, Yoga and Karana city in India. Given that example even the IST remains same for Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to West ends at the same instance all over the world (Like any celestial event). After having tithi and nakshatra endtimes, the Bengal the festival dates can be same for entire India. Sankathara Chaturthi/Karwa Chauth moon rise time is important. rules used to determine festivals in India are applied for overseas panchangam. This requires extensive knowledge of Moonrise in New Delhi on a given date is at 19:36 and in West Bengal, Kolkatta is at 19:25 PM. Now tritiya ends at Panchangam Agama (Shastras) with mathematical knowledge to calculate Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana, Day 19:32 PM IST. So Kolkatta will celebrate karwa chauth/sankathara chaturthi on the next day where as people in New (Vaar) and Local factors like Sunrise, Sunset, Moonrise, and Moonset. Hence, sometimes festivals may appear on the Delhi will celebrate on the same day. same day as India or a day before in the countries west of India. Where as in the countries east of India the festival 23:xx 24:xx 25:xx 26:xx 27:xx 28:xx 29:xx 30:xx 31:xx may appear on the same date as India or a day later. 11:xx PM 0:xx AM 1:xx AM 2:xx AM 3:xx AM 4:xx AM 5:xx AM 6:xx AM 7:xx AM There is a basic difference between English date and Hindu Date: The English date and the day (Sunday, Monday, same date next date next date next date next date next date next date next date next date etc.) changes at the midnight. Hindu day (Vaar) also doesn't change at the midnight. But changes at the sunrise, a Timings in this calendars are end timings of the Tithi and Nakshatra and for Sun/Moon entering time when it Hindu day is from one sunrise to another. The Hindu date or tithi (the festival falls in to) doesn't change at the midnight. enters a new rashi. If the hour number is greater than 12 it means PM. When the hour number is greater than 23 then The Hindu date (tithi -- depends on the positions of sun and the moon at any given time) changes anytime as celestial it ends on the next English date before sunrise, that means subtract 24 hours from hour to get exact time and take next bodies keep moving. The Tithi duration is the time it takes for the longitudinal angle between the moon and the sun to English date. For example tithi Amavasya ends at 26:36 on 19th March 2015 it means it really ends past midnight of increase by 12°.

  • Hymn to Brahma Score, 7-7-2014
Hymn to Brahma ancient Sanskrit temple chant arranged for choir by David Nelson Miller Program notes Three traditional melodies from India are brought together in this choir arrangement, sometimes without accompaniment, sometimes accompanied by keyboard, and sometimes accompanied by the recorded sounds of tanpuras. A tanpura is a traditional Indian string instrument which typically drones on 3 notes. One possible translation of the Sanskrit text is below. The text beginning “Brahmanandam…” is sung to two different melodies, at the beginning and end of the arrangement. The central section is a setting of the traditional chant Twameva Mata, sung in Sanskrit and English. • An Innovative Model to Predict Earthquakes in Indian Peninsula Y
British Journal of Earth Sciences Research Vol.3, No.1, pp.42-62, September 2015 ___Published by European Centre for Research Training and Development UK (www.eajournals.org) AN INNOVATIVE MODEL TO PREDICT EARTHQUAKES IN INDIAN PENINSULA Y. V. Subba Rao Visiting Professor, Department of Jyotish Rashtriya Sanskrit University, Tirupati, A.P., India ABSTRACT: Can earthquakes be predicted? So far, the answer is no. Scientists are unlikely to be ever able to predict earthquakes with any amount of certainty, according to the United States Geological Survey Apr 25, 2013. An Innovative Model for Earthquake Prediction (IMEP) proposed in this paper is a combination of Vedic Astrology (Vedānga), Varāha Mihira’s Brihat Samhita and scientific data of magnetic variations, structural geology such as fault zones, tectonic plates’ directions, loose soil areas of all the earthquakes occurred in Indian Peninsula shield over a period of 200 years. In the course of preparation of this paper, it is observed that the earthquakes occured at regular intervals of about 11 years and mostly during bright fortnight due to extraordinary astronomical phenomena occurring in the planets and special movements of the heavenly bodies. Vedānga and Brihat Samhita state that earthquakes are caused by eclipses of the luminaries. It is, therefore, plausible to predict earthquakes in a specific locality within a specific time limit utilising this model. However, as an initial step, the present model has been designed for application for India. The next earthquake in Indian peninsula is predicted to occur on Wednesday, the 16th March, 2016 on the basis of the proposed hypothesis model.

  • Brahmadeva Sutta
Sayutta Nikyavol1 S6.3Brahma,devaSutta Brahma, deva Sutta The Brahma, deva Discourse [The High God does not need any offering] (Sayutta Nikya 6.3/1:140-142) Translated by Piya Tan ©2004 1 Sutta summary This short instructive discourse, with a gentle touch of spiritual humour, is about a woman who worships Brahm (or God), regarded in ancient India as the creator god; yet her own son is an arhat. Brahm himself comes down from his heaven and appears before a brahminee (the monk Brahma, deva’s mother), admonishing her on the futility of her offerings, since brahms do not partake of earthly offer- ings, but subsist on dhyanic joy. More importantly, Brahm instructs the brahminee not to cast her religious sight too far away, when heaven lies right before her, in her own son: that her offerings would yield great fruit if she were to offer them to her own arhat son, Brahma, deva. The Sayutta Commentary tells a similar story about Shakra, who on seeing the people of Aga and Magadha making preparations for a great sacrifice to Mahā Brahmā, feels pity for them. Appearing to them in the guise of Brahmā, he advises them to take their offerings to the Buddha and listen to his teach- ings. (SA 1:351 f) Long before the rise of modern theism, the Buddha has already pointed to finding life’s answer and liberation within oneself, not in an external power, real or imagined. As long as we do not realize that we create our own God or gods, and that they are but hypostases of our desire for control and power, we will continue to find spiritual answers outside of ourselves, and fail to see the godliness and goodness within.

  • Some Important Facts About Hyerath... 1. Why Tithi Triyodashi Is Important
Some important facts about Hyerath... 1. Why Tithi triyodashi is important to celebrate Hyerath; According to Bharav Yaag Granth Triyodashi is the deciding factor to solemnize the day of Hyreath. Triyodashi should be present at midnight. That is the reason our Hyreath festival is sometimes celebrated on Dwadashi and sometimes at Triyodashi. 2. Are Herath and Maha Shiv Ratri same festivals? No. Our Hyreath is Har-Ratri (Hura Ratri) celebrated on Triyodashi & MahaShivratri deciding factor is Chaturdashi that is the reason Maha shivratri is also called Shiv-Chaturdashi. Hyreath and Maha- Shivratri cannot be solemnized on the same day. Recent example is Year 2011, 1st march jantri Page already posted in the group. 3. All over the Hindu world Hindus celebrate MAHASHIVRATRI on Chaturdashi that falls on 24th Feb and they are fine with that. Why are few among us comparing Herath with MahaShivratri? Our Hyreath deciding factor is Triyodashi and Mahashivratri is based on Chatrudashi as per Dharam Sindu. This is the reason Triyodashi Festival cannot be celebrated on chaturdashi. 4. At what time Triyodashi starts on 23rd Feb? Triyodashi is starting at 09-19 PM on 23rd Feb which decides the Hyreath to be solemnized on 23rd Feb. 2017. 5. What is sparsh and what is its importance? As already mentioned above Triyodashi starts at 09-19 PM which indicated that Puja to be performed at Dwodashi having sparsh of triyodashi at midnight. 6. What is PRADOSH and what is said about its impact on 24th Feb? Does this imply that even during chaturdashi ? Pradosh kaal is of 05 types.

Bhagavata Purana The Bh āgavata Pur āṇa (Devanagari : भागवतपुराण ; also Śrīmad Bh āgavata Mah ā Pur āṇa, Śrīmad Bh āgavatam or Bh āgavata ) is one of Hinduism 's eighteen great Puranas (Mahapuranas , great histories).[1][2] Composed in Sanskrit and available in almost all Indian languages,[3] it promotes bhakti (devotion) to Krishna [4][5][6] integrating themes from the Advaita (monism) philosophy of Adi Shankara .[5][7][8] The Bhagavata Purana , like other puranas, discusses a wide range of topics including cosmology, genealogy, geography, mythology, legend, music, dance, yoga and culture.[5][9] As it begins, the forces of evil have won a war between the benevolent devas (deities) and evil asuras (demons) and now rule the universe. Truth re-emerges as Krishna, (called " Hari " and " Vasudeva " in the text) – first makes peace with the demons, understands them and then creatively defeats them, bringing back hope, justice, freedom and good – a cyclic theme that appears in many legends.[10] The Bhagavata Purana is a revered text in Vaishnavism , a Hindu tradition that reveres Vishnu.[11] The text presents a form of religion ( dharma ) that competes with that of the Vedas , wherein bhakti ultimately leads to self-knowledge, liberation ( moksha ) and bliss.[12] However the Bhagavata Purana asserts that the inner nature and outer form of Krishna is identical to the Vedas and that this is what rescues the world from the forces of evil.[13] An oft-quoted verse is used by some Krishna sects to assert that the text itself is Krishna in literary
