EQUESTRIAN GENERAL RULES, REGULATIONS, ENTRIES & FEES, DANNEVIRKE and DISTRICTS A. & P. ASSOCIATION’S BY–LAWS AND REGULATIONS:

The show will be conducted under the Rules and Regulations issued by the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand (Inc) for the governance of the Dannevirke District Agricultural and Pastoral Association (Inc.). Competitors and members of the public enter the grounds at their own risk.

HEALTH and SAFETY Each exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and shall be liable for any hazards created or accident, illness or damage caused by the action of themselves or their animals at the showgrounds. Exhibitors must comply with the appropriate animal legislation and the Health and Safety, at Work Act 2015 and any amendments. BIKES, MOTORBIKES, E-BIKES ETC ARE ALLOWED IN TRUCK PARKING AREAS ONLY. Helmets must be worn at all times when riding a bike. All competitors riding horses or ponies must wear a hard hat or jumping helmet which has a current RED TAG.

All competitors enter the grounds at their own risk.

CLEAN SPORT: The use of tranquilisers, stimulants, or any drug capable of affecting the performance of horses or ponies is forbidden. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is at the owner’s risk. Clean Sport testing will be carried out under the Royal A&P Society NZ (Inc.).

ENTRIES: Enter online at www.main-events.com If insufficient entries, a class may be cancelled. The committee has the right to refuse an entry without explanation. If the number of entries warrant it, a class may be split. Competitors to keep own list of classes entered. Times in the Catalogue may differ from the Schedule depending upon Entries. GROUND LEVY: $15.00 per Horse/Pony for whole of Show: The Ground Levy must be paid by ALL COMPETITORS or entries will not be accepted. All fees can be paid on line to 060613-0041542-02. Please include your details CATALOGUE – will be available on line or can be printed at the office for a gold coin donation. ENTRIES CLOSE 24th January 2020: Late entries will be accepted until 29th January with a 25% penalty

ANYONE WITH AN OUTSTANDING BALANCE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE

ENTRIES DURING THE SHOW: Competitors will be able to place additional entries during the Show. This will apply only to animals that are already entered/competing at the Show. Additional entries will carry a 25% surcharge on the entry fee, which must be paid at the time the additional entry is made. These entries can only be made at the Main Secretary's Office before 5 pm on the day preceding the competition. These entries will then be processed, and updated sheets produced for Stewards for the next day's competition.

ENTRY OF SUBSTITUTIONS: The substitute must be of the same height as the original entry. Vet certificate not required. Substitution must be lodged in writing with the Secretary, by 5pm the day before competition Substitution forms available at the Secretary’s Office.

TRANSFERS: Competitors may transfer entered horse/pony to a different class under the following conditions - transfers must be done at the Secretary’s office with any difference in entry fees paid before the start of the class. If transferring to a class with a lower entry fee the difference will be forfeited by the competitor - transfers must be notified at least 1 hour before the start of the class you are transferring to. NO TRANSFERS ACCEPTED UNTIL PAID IN FULL.

SCRATCHINGS & REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: 75%of Entry Fees only for the individual class will be refunded if notified by 5 pm 30th January 2020 SCRATCHINGS FROM THE ENTIRE SHOW WILL RECEIVE 75% OF TOTAL ENTRY FEES ONLY IF ACCOMPANIED BY A DOCTORS/VETS/FARRIER CERTIFICATE. THIS MUST BE RECEIVED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE SHOW.

PRIZE MONEY/REFUNDS: All entry fees & prize money are GST inclusive. PM and refunds $10.00 and over will be paid out by direct credit using details on entry form after the show When paying entry fees by direct credit please ensure that your bank account details are included on your official entry form otherwise PM and refunds cannot be paid.

CAMPING: is free

HORSE ACCOMMODATION: Open Yards: $15 per horse/pony for show Covered Yards & Boxes: $25 per horse/pony for show Please indicate on entry form the nights you wish to book a yard or box. Your yard must be empty and clean by 2pm if it is not booked for that night. Yards are available at 3pm for the day booked.

Please note that this is an A & P Show. There will be Cattle in the Oval and horse classes will continue to run.

If you do not start as per your draw you are liable for elimination.

Truck parking: All trucks staying on the grounds must park as advised, close together and with NO TYING UP OF HORSES AT THE TRUCKS. This does not apply to day parking and trucks parking in the tramway.

Riders may compete in Introductory class (80cm and under for ponies and 90cm and under for Horses) on an Introductory Membership or Casual Membership Day Start. All other riders must be full members with ESNZ – results will not be recorded with ESNZ for Introductory Classes. Shows may choose to run registered classes at introductory heights where the rider must be a full ESNZ member and the horse may compete with a current Jumping/Show Hunter discipline start or on a Casual Jumping Levy – results for these classes will be recorded on ESNZ records where applicable.

Rules for the Showing Section

1. Height Certificates and Novice Cards must be carried at all times and presented on demand otherwise, the exhibitor will not be allowed to start. 2. Micro Chips do not exempt riders from a current Height Certificate 3. Prize Money – In the event where there are less than 4 competitors only 1st Prize money will be awarded. 2nd 3rd place will receive ribbons. 4. A Novice horse /pony/ rider is one that has not yet had six wins in total in Open and or Novice classes in any division within the Competitions provided at any A&P Show, once a Horse/Pony/Rider has achieved the sixth win in a division the Horse/Pony/Rider must then compete in the appropriate Open Classes. 5. All wins must be recorded on a current performance card, and signed by the Steward or Judge. 6. All must regardless of age, wear identification “S” Badge. Also Stallion Bib and Armbands. 7. Any Horse or Pony which misbehaves to the extent that it unduly disturbs other competitors must leave the ring if asked to do so. 8. Rings will not be held, for Riders which are on other mounts, 9. Novice Ponies maybe ridden by an adult 10. Please note times are approximate and we will try to start on time 11. Number Holders to be worn please in the Show Ring.

The Miniature Horse Section of the Show will be run in accordance with NZMHA Show Rules.

All horses must not exceed 38" at maturity (86.36cm). Category A horses are or will not exceed 34" at maturity. Category B horses are or will be over 34", and not exceeding 38" at maturity. NZMHA Height for Age regulations Show Guidelines apply for this show. 2009 NZMHA Show rules apply. All horses must have an official current RAS Height Certificate to show. Open to all Registered Miniature Horses. The Show Committee reserves the right to combine or split classes if entries are too few or too many. All entire horses must have a stallion tag. Pleasure Horse/Pony Ring (HOYQ)

Pleasure horse/pony means that animals who do not fit the mould of a Show Horse/Pony. We welcome any breed (e.g appaloosas, quarter horses, standardbreds, clyde X) and colour. They should be an uncomplicated and genuine pleasure to ride. Whilst they do not possess the show quality conformation of a show horse, they should in their own way be a delight to ride, with impeccable manners A pleasure mount is not an inexperienced mount with show quality, conformation, who is destined for the open show ring.

Section information – please read: This section is aimed at competitive pleasure combinations aiming a qualifying for Horse of the Year (HOY). This section is run in alignment with the rules and guidelines of the

NZ Equestrian Pleasure Society (NZEPS). To see more information about what type of horse a pleasure horse is and what the NZ Equestrian Pleasure Horse Society is all about go to the website.

RULES:  If you enter this section you may not enter any other RAS Showing (excluding breed classes where competors may compete) or the RECREATIONAL PLEASURE section at the Show. You can still enter showjumping and showhunter classes at the Show if you are ESNZ registered.  Simple snaffles only and no strapping below the bit, ie flash straps or drop nosebands.  No spurs.  Crops/whips allowed but not exceeding 76cm (ie.
