Co-Energy America is a leading developer of packaged combined heat and power systems based in Boston. Co-Energy America specialize in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of cogeneration systems.

Clarke Energy acquired Co-Energy America in 2019 to expand the companies geographical coverage and product range into smaller cogeneration systems between 35kW to 1MW.

Co-Energy America manufacture the following units which can be combined and configured up to 1MW:

35 kW | 80 kW | 150 kW | 280 kW

Co-Energy America performs facility energy audits, design-builds projects, and services all their cogeneration systems. Experienced service technicians stand ready 24/7 for preventative and unscheduled maintenance.

What is Cogeneration? Cogeneration is a highly efficient form of energy Operational, Financial and conversion and using gas engines it can achieve primary energy savings of approximately 40% Environmental Benefits compared to the separate purchase of electricity from the electricity grid and gas for use in a boiler. - Reduced utility bills - Reliable on-site power Trigeneration is the process by which some of the heat produced by a cogeneration plant is used - Back-up power capability to generate chilled water for air conditioning or - Highly efficient energy production refrigeration. An absorption chiller is linked to the cogeneration to provide this functionality. - Strong return on investment Fueled by clean natural gas If the fuel for the is renewable such as - biogas, hydrogen or biomethane, cogeneration can - Reduced carbon emissions be a highly sustainable source of electricity and heat distribution network. - Qualifies as an Alternative Energy Solution Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)

Clarke Energy is an authorized distributor and service provider for Techno Project Industriale’s (TPI’s) biogas upgrading plants. These include both membrane and selective solvent-based washing systems.

Biogas upgrading is the process of the separation of from the carbon dioxide and other gases from biogas. The concentrated biogas – close to 100% methane is called renewable natural gas (RNG).

Biogas upgrading technology can be applied to anaerobic digesters, wastewater treatment facilities and landfill sites. Biogas upgrading can be used as a substitute technology to gas engines or can be used in parallel where power and heat are required on site.

- Allows purification of biogas to pipeline injection, compression or transportation quality.

- RNG can be used as a vehicle fuel or injected into the gas distribution network.

Why Clarke Energy for RNG?

- Local long-established presence and footprint in Midwest. - Local team of field service engineers. - Unparalleled international biogas experience on varying applications and process technologies.

- Proven, best-in-class technology (TPI membrane and amine wash systems).

- TPI - quality engineering from CO2 specialist. - Combination of biogas cogeneration and biogas upgrading support.
