This, Ernest Greene's Master OREegLvBP of O, is the book I have unknowingly been waiting for.By Tracy PomaAs I was lz7Qw7474 reading this it was as though I was getting a V.I.P, behind the scenes peek of a STCQYuVwv sensually decadent world that I have not seen portrayed in previous fiction, erotic AsIrHPewp or otherwise. In this retelling and updated rendering of ,Greene has been f2RMzUWwA able to tune into a frequency that, for me, Rage could not. I hesitate to make too ePKMQ8GZw many comparisons between Story of O and Master of O. Trying to compare the wzBcWPJoh two is like the comparison between listening to Vivaldi on an old a.m.transistor 46cc8UPhJ radio vs. hearing it on a Bose Sound System. Both are entertaining, while one rings a bit tinny and floats on the surface, the other is lush, rich and felt at a bone deep level. This book stands on it's own. One need not have read Story of O to get the full impact (pun intended) of Greene's Master of O. For myself, having read both, this work answers so many questions . Why would O be attracted to these particular men, who seemed quite unlikable? In this telling, I was better able to see the inner workings of a dominant male. Greene's Steven is complex, sympathetic and masterfully flawed. All of his characters are so full and alive, as is one of my favorite characters, Los Angeles. As a native Angeleno, I have to admit my bias, but his description of Los Angeles adds to the noir feel of the book. I am delighted to have found a book that is both an extremely erotic tale and incredibly well written. I am someone who enjoys a long read , which this is. That being said, I did not want it to end.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. An Epic Journey into Literary BDSM EroticaBy taarna11This contemporary retelling of "The Story of O" by Pauline Reage unfolds like a decadent serving of tiramisu. The intimate Sub-Dom relationship between our two main characters, Steven and O respectively, is explored layer by layer. Each chapter is more enticing and stimulating than the last as we are drawn into Ernest Greene's erotic-kink wonderland, set in an opulent sector of Los Angeles. The dimensions of their desires, motivations and emotions are revealed to the reader in vivid, descriptive detail. Steven is no stranger to the BDSM world, but is awakened to new challenges and fantasies made real when he is gifted with the exotic and unique O. The passions she awakens in Steven are something humans long for at all levels, and not just in the BDSM world. It is that yearning for (and if we're lucky, a fulfillment of), the kinds of activities and relationships that make us feel alive - hearts beating in a heady rhythm, bellies fluttering with anticipation, minds awake and absorbed. Greene captures the thrill of those experiences, and creates characters with great depth that we not only want to observe in the erotic sense, but that we begin to care about intensely the further into the we fall. You will want to burn through the pages of this epic-length novel and devour every morsel, but I suggest you read it a slower, controlled pace. Savoring it bit by measured bit to the last, succulent drop. "Master of O" is truly a triumph of literary erotica.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. "The Great Gatsby Meets Kink-lit"By MWvixenIn Ernest Greene's "Master of O", a new take on the infamous "Story of O", the saga is now seen through the eyes of the master/dominant.In the original "O", neither of the main male characters, Sir Stephen and Rene, were very well defined( although there is speculation that the author Pauline Reage did this intentionally). They just play the roles of O's masters, who, without much panache or personality, might leave one to question just why O surrendered herself so completely to two men with such lack of magnetism.Master of O seeks to fill that void and does so admirably, with both O's lover (Ray) and her master ( Steven), against the backdrop of modern LA, described in amusing detail by author Ernest Greene. Also vividly described, the incredibly hot sex and true-to-life BDSM are only part of the plot, and not the reason for it.While O and the other supporting characters are equally three dimensional and appealing, it is O's master , Steven, who's life draws us in.As I read the novel, I couldn't help but see the parallels between Steven Diamond and his classic literary predecessor, Jay Gatsby. Like Gatsby, the master of O is a self- made man with a past, and while enjoying the trappings and luxuries of his success, is still eluded by the one thing he cannot buy: The ideal woman. The excesses of the Nouveau riche in LA and the superficialities that go with them are much like the era depicted in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel: bright and shiny distractions from what is really in peoples' hearts.Regardless of whether you have read Story of O ( but especially if you have). Master of O succeeds as a novel on so many levels, entertainment being foremost, that there is something in it for just about everyone.

Enter the decadent dungeons frequented by the powerful players of Los Angeles in this sexy virtual page turner! Steven Diamond is a high-powered LA attorney by day, but by night he uses his wealth and influence to indulge his most intimate desires - including the domination and ownership of his choice of beautiful and willing female slaves. His life is a waking dream until his younger half-brother, Ray, presents him with a unique gift: The eponymous O, a mysterious and seductive submissive hedonist in search of a master deserving of her complete devotion. Master of O takes you inside the hidden world of the most privileged and indulgent elite pleasure seekers, a world at once enticingly exotic and recognizable as Steven and O navigate the dangerous territories of desire, power, and gratification in this modern classic of erotic obsession, a new addition to The Story of O saga, told for the first time from the point of view of the dominant man. "Ernest Greenes long, loving riff on the most significant sexy book of all time is the real dealgripping and pervy, knowing and witty, sexy and moving. If Story of O played out today, heres what the other side of that classic tale would look like: brainy and literate, scarily observant of the details of the kinky LA good life, where exotic furs are faux, whips are Jay Marston, flight attendants wear translucent blue latex, and the power-trappings of masculine dress finally get the fetish stylist they deserve. Read it for the dead smart vocabulary and cryptic Jethro Tull reference, or read it for the hot, hot characters and the searing sexbut read it!" Carol Queen, Author, The Leather Daddy The Femme; Co-founder, The Center for Sex Culture "Ernest Greene's Master of O is more than a welcome snapshot of a side of the sexual spectrum we never see; it's a dense, poignant, and often hilarious document of a dark world full of collars, snaps, cinches, creases, ornamentation, red marks, and things that need to be just so. It is also brutally erotic. The California Stephen Diamond, Esq. and the intriguing O inhabit is our California, just 50 shades sexier. --Gram Ponante Author, A Porn Valley Odyssey: Making "The Facts of Life XXX
