LAMP INSTALLATION

1. Remove the 6 screws on the front cover (The one with the SANUVOX logo). Put aside. 2. Remove the BLUE END CAP lamp from packaging. Use the gloves provided. 3. Insert the lamp in the second clamp and tighten. (furthest clamp from opening) 4. Holding the cap with one hand, plug the white connector tightly on the lamp 5. Remove the YELLOW END CAP lamp from packaging. Use the gloves provided. 6. Insert the lamp in the first clamp and tighten. (closest to opening) 7. Holding the cap with one hand, plug the white connector tightly on the lamp 8. Put the cover back on with the 6 screws

GENERAL INSTALLATION Suggested installation Unit could be

• Suspended from with angles and suspension rods (not included). • Hung on with supplied angle iron (included).

Using 8’’ collars, attach rigid or flex duct to the return side of the unit above the area where smoke accumulates in order to remove as much smoke as possible. Attach duct (metal or flex) to the supply side of the unit to discharge clean air over or . This is done to prevent odors from escaping the room. It is through recirculation that the odors will be removed. If the room is longer , you may use multiple inlets to pull the smoke to the unit.

The VOC controller should be installed on the wall, at 12 inches from the ceiling where the smoke accumulates. The S300 VOC unit comes with 20ft of wire to link the controller box to the unit. If 20 ft not long enough, you can replace it with BX wiring with 3 wires.

WORKING INSTRUCTION

The VOC controller analyzes the air every 90 seconds. A 20-foot power cord connects it via a relay to the device to activate the second oxidizing lamp on demand.

The S300 unit runs continuously, so its regular lamp purifies the air constantly. This dual zone lamp (UVC / UVV) is enough when there are only one or two smokers.

However, when the cigarette smoke increases in the room, the VOC controller that samples the air at regular intervals, then triggers the 2nd UVV lamp for periods of 90 seconds. This cycle is repeated if the controller detects smoke in the room: it then turns off the 2nd lamp, leaving the 1st lamp to continue the cleaning cycle.

SIMPLIFIED PROCESS: • Ashes in the “white” smoke will be trapped onto the filter • Nicotine molecules will be dried by the UVC rays than trapped in the filters without the tar like material that coats everything. • VOC will be oxidised by the UVV, reducing substantially their olfactory perception.

VOC CONTROLLER

Remove the cover.

Connect the 3 wires from the controller to the same color setting screw: wiring coming from the unit. Use the wire connectors triggers at included. 3.0 V DC Positive Sensor The detector is factory set a t 3.0 V DC; If you wish to set up a higher sensitivity, please proceed as follow. Neutral SETTING (if necessary)

You will need a voltmeter with alligator type probes.

Place the probes one on the positive terminal, the other on the neutral terminal.

Use a small screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw to increase the sensitivity of the controller. The default setting is 3.0 v dc. The closer your setting is to 3.0 vdc, the faster the triggering of the lamp will be.

CHECKING IF IT WORKS

1. Start the unit: inside the polycarbonate box, the GREEN LED flashes. It will take some time, so the electronic board initializes itself. 2. After 5 minutes, the GREEN LED will turn solid. Blow some cigarette smoke into the controller. If the other RED LED lights up, the relay triggers on the oxidizing lamp (all UVV). This sequence reproduce itself every minute or so. When there is no more smoke (VOC), the RED LED is turned off at the same time as the lamp.

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

• MONTHLY: Change the pre-filter that protects the motor (part # MSCFTR10) to ensure the optimal performance of the unit. Check the lamps: if there is a cloudy residue please clean then off with denatured alcohol. • YEARLY: Change lamps (parts -see below) to maintain performance: make sure to put the same lamp in the same clamp. Do not interchange the lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only with the VOC controller. o LMPHGXJ105-1 lamp UVC/UVV 2’’ exposed (yellow end cap) o LMPHXJ105 lamp all UVV (blue end cap) • 3-5 years: Change VOC controller board

MAINTENANCE

• MONTLY: o Check filter: if filters are dirty, change them (part # MSCFTR10). This will help lower air restrictions so to keep up the performance of the unit. o Check if the lamps are covered with dust; in that case, clean them with denatured alcohol and a clean cloth. • ANNUALLY: o Change lamps (parts -see below) to maintain performance: make sure to put the same lamp in the same clamp. Do not interchange lamps as the blue end cap lamp works only with the VOC controller. § LMPHGXJ105-1 lamp UVC/UVV 2’’ exposed (yellow end cap) § LMPHXJ105 lamp all UVV (blue end cap) • 3-5 years: Change VOC controller board

It is very important that the fan processes the air rapidly. Changing the filters regularly is a must.
