LETTER DATED 29 SEPTEMBER 1987 FROM THE PERMANENT REPRESEN’I’ATIVS OF IRA@ TO THE UNITED NATIONS ADDRESSED TO THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

On instructions from my Government and further to our many letters concerninrl the continued bombardment by the Iranian regime of purely residential areas in , the most recent of which was contained in document S/19152, I have the honour t0 inform you that the Iranian aggressor armed forces committed acts of aggression against Iraq and shelled pure1.y civilian population centres in Iraq on 24 and 25 September 1987. Details are as follows:

From 1000 until 1300 : Sirwan Artillery Material damage subdistrict and surrounding areas bombardment and town of Khurmal and surrounding areas From 1910 until 0347 Sasra governorate, including the 262 Seven killed, including one woman, following areas: Al-Mishraq, 16 wounded, including one woman, Al-Muwaffaqiyah, Old Basra, damage to a number of houses Al-Shu'lah, Al-Ashar, Zubayr, and commercial stores, four Al-Dakir, Al-Sa'udiyah, the venicles, one gas pipeline, one Corniche, Al-Tahsiniyah, elementary school, one apartment Al-Abbasiyah, Al-Asma'l, bullding, the Pepsi Cola factory Manawi Basha, Al-Buradi'iyah, and the darry products factory Sa'd Square, SabKhat al-Arab, and fires in various areas Al-Salimi, Al-Hakimiyah, Nadhran, Al-Tawalsah, Al-Sa'di

From 2240 until 2250 Diyala governorate: areas 8 Material damage surrounding the tOWn of Khanaqin 2. 25 September 1987:
