1 ALBRIGHTATHLETICS.COM George C. Bollman Center

The Albright Lions practice and play in one of the finest small-college basketball venues in the nation, the George C. Bollman Center. The Schumo Center for Fitness and Well-Being was built onto the Bollman Center in the summer of 2007, further enhancing the athletic facilities.

The Bollman Arena was completely renovated in 1998-99. The interior of the structure was replaced, and new mechanized bleachers now complement the sparkling playing floor (which was refurnished in 2012). The bleachers include 240 VIP chair-back seats located at center court on both sides. The walls and ceiling are painted bright Albright red and white.

Championship banners have been hung, a $25,000 sound system was installed, and in the summer of 2007, a brand new floor was installed. Finally, Albright is one of the few small colleges to boast an electronic 24-foot rotating signage scorer's table. The campaign to renovate the Bollman Arena was spearhead- ed by former Albright basketball player John Scholl '69.

In the summer of 2011, a state-of-the-art air conditioning/heating system was installed in the Bollman Center. This top-of-the-line system will give players, students, and fans comfortable conditions throughout the year.

ALBRIGHTATHLETICS.COM 2 Season Preview

The Albright College women’s basketball team had its highest win total since 2009 last season with a young roster, and looks to take the next step this year.

“We really hope to build on the momentum of last season,” said head coach Janice Luck. “We have high hopes, but we’re still going to take it one game at a time.”

The Lions went 11-14 behind rookie Kelecia Harris- the D3hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region and ECAC South Rookie of the Year and a member of DIII News’ national All-Freshman team.

#20 Kelecia Harris Harris led the nation in shooting percentage during the regular season, at 59.6%. Her 57 total blocks and 2.48 blocks per game both ranked second all-time at Albright, and her 243 rebounds placed her third-best in the school single-season record books.

Also returning is junior shooting guard Jessica Venturelli, who has started all 50 games since coming to Albright. She averaged 7.5 ppg in 2012-13 while shooting 72.4% from the free throw line and 34.1% from behind the arc.

“The inside-outside threat [of Harris and Venturelli ] will be very important for us,” said Luck.

Senior forward Meghan Boyle is a four-year starter in the post, and enters her final season with 690 points and 604 rebounds in her career. “She will be someone who we can depend on day in and day out, and who can help lead our young squad to some wins,” said Luck of Boyle.

Rounding out the projected starting lineup is se- nior point guard Kristi McFadden and freshman Shannon Thomas.

The Lions will have great depth in the post be- hind Harris and Boyle. Senior Shawn Barczyn- ski is an asset on the boards, while sophomores Emily O’Donnell and Kadijah Bishop showed potential in their rookie season as well.

The Commonwealth Conference is coming off one of its best seasons as a league, with three teams making the second round of the NCAA tournament- Widener, Messiah and Lebanon Val- ley.

“We really want to see postseason play,” said Luck. “Last year we were so close [The Lions were eliminated from contention in the final week after letting a double-digit halftime lead slip away at Lycoming], I think the team had a taste of what it could be like.”

After opening up the season on November 15-16 at Centenary’s Cyclone Tip-Off Tournament, #30 Jessica Venturelli the Lions will face Moravian and get a great test for Harris and Boyle in Preseason All-American forward Alexis Wright. Albright then opens up Commonwealth play on November 26 against NCAA Elite Eight qualifier Widener.

Despite a tough opening stretch to the schedule, the team is focused on getting off to a good start. “We have very good team chemistry this year,” said Luck. “It’s a smaller roster in terms of numbers, but they’re very close and are working hard every day.”

In 2010-11, Luck earned her 100th career victory with a 69-49 win over cross-town rival Alvernia.

In 2009 Luck led the Lady Lions to the postseason for the third consecutive year. With a 17-10 record, Luck coached two 1,000 point scorers, a first and sec- ond team All-Conference selection, the Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year, and the program's first D3Hoops.com first team Mid-Atlantic All- Region honoree. Luck also helped the Red and White to defeat two top-20 nationally ranked opponents in DeSales University and Messiah College.

In the 2007-08 season, Luck guided Albright to new heights, recording the most wins in pro- gram history with 20. Luck was also responsible for leading her team to their second consecu- tive conference tournament and its first ever trip to NCAA Tournament. For her incredible efforts with the Red and White, Luck was named Mid-Atlantic Regional Coach of the Year.

In 2006-07, Luck qualified for the league playoffs and led Albright to an 18-win season, her best record up to that point. Her Lady Lions finished the year with an overall record of 18-10, while managing a conference record of 10-4 that earned them the number two seed in the conference tournament. Albright also earned its first ECAC Tournament bid in program history.

The 2005-06 season marked a new beginning for both Luck and the women's basketball pro- gram at Albright. After compiling a program best 14-win season, Luck was named Commonwealth Conference Coach of the Year.

A 1996 graduate of Albright College with a B.S. in psychology and business, Luck is beginning her 19th season on the Bollman Center court; four as a play- er, three as an assistant coach, and entering her 12th as head coach.

Luck originally came to Albright in the fall of 1992, and her athletic experience was not limited to the basketball court. Luck started for three years on the Albright field hockey team, and was a team captain her junior and senior seasons.

For the Lady Lion basketball team, she started all four years, and was a team captain for three years. As a point guard, Luck ran the Albright attack like few who came before her. When her last game had finished in February of 1996, she held every school record for assists, including most in a game, season, and career. Not just a passer, Luck also set the school mark for three-point baskets in a game with six.

Upon graduation Luck made the transition from player to coach as she joined the Albright staff as an assistant. In her first year on the Lions' staff, she helped direct Albright to the conference tournament for the first time in five seasons. Luck spent two years as an Albright assistant before heading to West Chester University to pursue her master's degree in sports administration. During that time, she took a graduate assistant position on the West Chester coaching staff.

Following one year at West Chester, Luck returned to her alma mater to work in the Albright admissions department. While not involved in coaching the Lady Lions at that time, she remained deeply involved with the game, coaching in a high school girls summer league and serving as camp director of the Future Stars Girls Basketball Camp. ALBRIGHTATHLETICS.COM 4 Amanda Hanincik Assistant Coach 9th Season

Amanda Hanincik enters her ninth season as a member of the Albright College women’s basketball coaching staff. In 2005 she returned to the Albright bench after a successful playing career with the Lady Lions.

In Hanincik's time at Albright, the Lions have played in the NCAA tournament once, the ECAC championships twice, and made three appearances in the Commonwealth Conference playoffs.

A 2000 graduate of Albright College, Hanincik earned a degree in Psychology and Business. As a member of the wom- en’s basketball program, Hanincik became a consistent starter in her senior year.

After graduation Hanincik continued her education, earning her master’s degree in Higher Education Counseling from West Chester University.

Before making the jump to the collegiate level, Hanincik was a standout player for Bishop Hafey High School in Hazleton, PA. Amongst her many responsibil- ities at Albright, Hanincik also serves as the Assistant Dean of Students.

Over four seasons with the Huskies, Oxenrider started all 116 games that she played in. She averaged double-digit points every year, reaching the 1,000-point milestone in the NCAA tournament during her junior season.

Oxenrider was a two-time All-PSAC selection, leading her squad to the NCAA tournament in her junior and senior sea- sons. The Huskies won the 2012-13 PSAC championship, defeating Gannon thanks in part to 16 points from Oxenrider.

As a coach, Oxenrider has several years of experience working at the Darnell Marshall Basketball Camp.

An accomplished student-athlete, Oxenrider graduated in the spring of 2013 with a degree in education while maintaining a 3.95 GPA within her major. She graduated cum laude and made the Dean's List six times.
