2017 Pilot Facts Guide INTRODUCTION 2017 Pilot Facts Guide INTRODUCTION The Honda Brand At Honda, dreams have been instrumental to our success from the very beginning. Today, those dreams are reflected in our automobiles. In the 21st century, the power of Honda’s dreams will continue to lead to new insights and new technology. Examples of turning dreams into reality include the zeroemission Clarity Fuel Cell sedan slated for production in 2016, and the Accord Hybrid—which features Honda’s 2motor hybrid system. These vehicles help ensure Honda’s position as a manufacturer of some of the cleanest automobiles in the world. The imagination of Honda engineers exceeded earthly limits by pioneering a new type of jet aircraft—the HondaJet®, the ultimate in advanced lightjet travel that consumes far less fuel than other conventional jets in its class. And let’s not forget ASIMO®, a Honda robot that walks, talks and sings—and serves as an advanced study in mobility to inspire outofthebox thinking. Honda’s innovative spirit is alive and well. It’s evident in a wide variety of products. And as Honda continues to innovate, those products will continue to improve lives—which is what the Power of Dreams is all about. To create a vehicle that would lead its segment for years to come, the Pilot’s developers went above and beyond. The result is a stylish, versatile and confidenceinspiring performer designed to seamlessly make every facet of a family’s active life more enjoyable. The Pilot’s handsome styling combines with upscale interior appointments to position this vehicle a class above the competition. It’s equipped with an unprecedented level of smart, functional features and leadingedge technology. Design Concept Highly engaging performance is assured with a thoroughly advanced powertrain and refined chassis. And its safety engineering is designed to earn the Pilot the highest honors available. This Pilot has been imbued with a long list of innovative features, several of which appeared for 0:00 / 0:12 the first time on any Hondabadged vehicle. It’s an acknowledgement of the designers’ desire to create a truly exceptional product—one that will appear at the top of every family’s shopping list for a long, long time. • Honda Pilot Tops Shootout Among Seven 3-Row Suvs
Honda Pilot tops shootout among seven 3-row SUVs October 17, 2011 By James R. Healey, USA TODAY CHICAGO — The family-size SUV market is an action movie. New and freshened entries. Rising fuel economy. Zooming technology. Flashier styling. All of which would mean nothing if buyers weren't impressed. But they are. Ford Explorers, Chevrolet Traverses, Honda Pilots and other three-row, family SUVs account for one of every seven new vehicles sold, reports J.D. Power and Associates, and buyers are paying a segment-record average transaction price of about $33,000. Our latest Shootout comparison is a face-off among seven vehicles in the heart of that family SUV market: 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, Dodge Durango, Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot and Kia Sorento and the 2011 Mazda CX-9 and Toyota Highlander. Our experts, plus the Koch family of Hoffman Estates, Ill., tested and rated them for the Cars.com/USA TODAY/MotorWeek $37,000 Three-row SUV Shootout— a mouthful that signifies we set a size range and sticker-price cap judged most relevant to the most buyers. The top overall scorer in a close competition: Honda Pilot. Complete model-by-model ranking, scores, features, judges' reactions and some reasons why each one finished as it did, are above. But here are some broad, overall impressions: •$37,000 doesn't go far in this crowd. All the test SUVs were more than presentable, but not all had leather upholstery, for instance, or backup cameras. Only two had navigation systems (Explorer and Sorento). Only one (Pilot) had a rear entertainment system.
