MS. DIYA KUMARI: Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state: (a) whether the Government has received assistance from International Financial Institutions for various forest development projects; (b) if so, the details thereof during each of the last three years and the current year; and (c) the details of the forest development projects implemented through the said assistance during the said period, State-wise including Rajasthan? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE (SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO) (a) to (c) Several international institutions such as Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), French Development Agency (AFD), Deutsche Gesellschaftfür Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), KfW Bank and the World Bank provide financial assistance for forest development projects aiming at increasing forest cover, conservation of biodiversity, rehabilitation of degraded forest areas, soil & moisture conservation measures, capacity building of forest officials and other stakeholders, creation of livelihood opportunities for forest fringe villagers and other measures for sustainable management of forests, etc. Details of forest development projects implemented by Forest Departments including Rajasthan during last three years and the current year with external financial assistance are enclosed in Annexure. *** Annexure: Annexure referred to in reply to part (b)&(c) of the Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No.2737 due for answer on 06/03/2020 regarding “ForestDevelopment Projects”.
