SUMMER TERM, Issue 5 2 Music Lessons

I am pleased to announce that I have secured a new Drum Teacher, starng in September.

Ma Wilson comes highly recommended, and already some parents will be familiar with him as he works locally and teaches some Rose Hill pupils at JB’s Music Store in Tunbridge Wells. He will be vising Rose Hill on Monday 13th June, and will be giving a ‘drum demonstraon’ to all children in Years 3, 4 and 5. This will be a lovely opportunity to see a professional drummer in acon and to hear all about what it takes to be a drummer, but also serves to hopefully whet the appete of future and/or budding percussionists. We hope to start a healthy number of new drummers in September and Ma is available to chat to parents at any me – please either contact me, or Ma directly – details aached.

Likewise, Miriam Cox, our ‘cello teacher is now able to expand her hours at Rose Hill and is going to come into school to speak to all the children in Years 1 and 2 on Thursday 9th June. Her talk will educate the younger children on how the ‘cello makes its beauful sound, how the instrument is made, and what the different parts of the instrument are called. Miriam is a professional ‘cellist who studied at the Royal College of Music, oen performing in Ensembles in London and around the UK, on Radio 2 ‐ and also with Jools Holland! Again, please contact me if you would like to discuss the possibility of your child beginning lessons.

Spaces remain for other instruments as well – why not arrange a ‘taster’ lesson for your child? We offer tuion in the following instruments:

G, ‘C, V, C, T, C, F, R, D, S

Please contact me – [email protected] if you would like further informaon on any of the above.
