THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW • Buffalo’s all-time record of 52-34-8 (.596) against Tampa Bay is the team’s third-best record against any Eastern Conference opponent, trailing only their 88-48-20 (.628) mark against Washington and their 113-67-26 (.612) record against Toronto. • Jack Eichel has five points (2+3) in his last five games against Tampa Bay. • Benoit Pouliot has three goals in his last three games against the Lightning.

THE KANE EVENT • After recording 11 points in 11 games during October for his first point-per-game month since January 2014, Evander Kane has 11 points through 12 games in November. The Hockey Hall of Famer and former Sabres defenseman is the seventh alumnus to serve as the team’s head coach.

Housley joined the Sabres after helping to guide the Nashville Predators to their first ever Final appearance in 2016. Named an assistant coach on May 22, 2013, Housley was a driving force behind one of the NHL’s best defensive groups throughout his tenure.

A native of South St. Paul, Minnesota, Housley began his coaching career in 2004 as head coach of Stillwater Area High School in Minnesota. During his nine seasons at the helm, Housley turned around the school’s program while also accepting numerous opportunities to coach for Team USA at the international level.
