Student Transfers to University of , 2014

One of the educational pathways for students at is earning a two-year degree or credits toward a degree then transferring to a four-year college or university. As Table 1 below shows, 150 COM students applied to one or more of the campuses in 2014. Of those 150 students, 69% were admitted. Of those admitted, 79% enrolled at a UC campus. COM students were most likely to apply to UC-Berkeley and/or UC-Davis. Their admission rate is far higher at Davis than Berkeley. In fact, COM students were most likely to be admitted to Davis and least likely to UCLA. COM students admitted to Berkeley (N=39) were far more likely to enroll there (90%) than COM students admitted to other UC campuses. Forty percent of those admitted to Davis enrolled there as did 47% who were admitted to UCLA.

A common comparison used for College of Marin is the Bay10 community college districts (consisting of 21 colleges) plus Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). Compared to these colleges, COM and students were the most likely to be admitted to UC-Berkeley (35%). is not far behind at 32%. From Contra Costa and Diablo, 30% were admitted. (See Table 2.)

However, COM students admitted to a UC enroll at a rate that is about average among this comparison group. (See Table 3.)
