Beginning Ground IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT EVERY New CAMPER Manners ENROLL IN THIS CLASS. (For horseless horse members or campers (required for all 1st participating without a horse or beginning campers not yet comfortable handling year members) their own horse). Campers will be shown how to use a halter with a lead rope to teach how to be less spooky and more respectful of you. Tips for problem horses & What to do if your horse tries to bite you or run over you. (You may be asked to get your horse after the demonstration) Beg. Beginning Riding For beginners who need one on one instruction or help to gain more confidence in their riding. EITHER TACK Beginning Showmanship For handlers who have never learned showmanship you will have opportunity to work with your horse on the basics of showmanship- where to stand, correct position of hands, how to show your horse to the judge and how showmanship patterns work. (Halter and chain lead rope)

Beginning Speed Riders will learn Basics correct seat & hand position and techniques for speed obstacles (poles, barrels, plug and flag). Beginners will work at the walk or trot. EITHER TACK

Beginning You will have the opportunity to walk your horse through a course of obstacles Trail Class (PVC piping, cones) before you begin riding. We will also work on techniques for handling your horse. EITHER TACK Dressage This class is for the rider who wishes to explore the basics of dressage. This class is a 3-gait class for riders to work on the dressage seat and improve their communication with their horse. Not for beginners!

Equitation/ Equitation / Horsemanship- class for riders who wish to practice following patterns. Horsemanship This class explains how to understand and read patterns for equitation and (Pattern Reading) horsemanship. Practice reading and riding the patterns. May include lead changes. EITHER TACK Green Horse This class begins unmounted practicing ground manners. For the camper with a horse that is new to the social environment or hard to handle. (You should come to class with your horse saddled with a halter and lead rope on and bring your bridle) Ground Games Teach your horse (halter with a lead rope) through learning games. If you have a rope halter and carrot stick, bring them.

Ground Manners You will be asked to bring your horse to this class in a halter with a lead rope and begin to teach your horse to be less spooky and more respectful of you. Tips for problem horses. Halter/ Showmanship You will have the opportunity to work with your horse on halter but we will be emphasizing on the basics of showmanship- where to stand, correct position of hands, how to show your horse to the judge and learn different showmanship patterns work.. Harnessing & Learn harness parts, harnessing & the basics of driving a cart. Horse Judging & We will begin with the basics of horse judging. Learn the correct proportions Conformation of the horse. What are the judges looking for? What is correct and what is a defect? Take a look at the legs, head and overall body and find out how a well-proportioned a horse is put together. Also includes parts of the horse.

Hunter hack/jumping For the horse & rider who can consistently and safely jump single lines and gymnastic combinations. Work on approaches, turns, and distances over jumps up to 2’. ENGLISH TACK. Inter/Adv. Lots of fun on horseback. We will play egg & spoon, musical mats and other Goofy Games games. If you don’t know them we will teach you. But be able to stop your horse at any given time for safety. EITHER TACK .Intermediate/Advanced Riders will work on all 3 gaits and have independent control of their mounts. English Class will include work on the diagonals, canter leads, seat, hands and ring etiquette. Advanced riders will work on show ring polish and hand gallop. ENGLISH TACK

Relay races/fun games (Team Plug, Texas Keyhole, Pole weaving) Carrot, egg, pops races & more! Fun, Fun, Fun!! Walk/Trot/Canter …Go at your own pace Show/safety ring Proper show ring safety. Learn the dos and what not to do while Etiquette showing your horse in the show ring. First year exhibitors must audit. Speed Riders will be learning techniques on how to improve on the speed premium classes as well as learning new speed patterns. EITHER TACK Trail Class You will have the opportunity to ride your horse through a course of obstacles (tarp, PVC piping, cones, small jump, & a wooden bridge) and work on techniques for handling your horse. You will also be learning how to side-pass. EITHER TACK

Unmounted This class will help you understand and read patterns for Equitation Pattern Reading (English) & Horsemanship (Western). (You will be required to read patterns at fair). (No horse) Walk/jog Western Riders will be asked to walk and jog, no loping in this class. Class will work pleasure on the basics of riding, aids and western seat. Also ring etiquette. WESTERN TACK Walk/trot English Riders will be asked to walk and trot, no cantering in this class. Class will pleasure work on the basics of riding aids, seat, direct , posting at the trot, ring etiquette and what to learn for a pleasure class. ENGLISH TACK 3 gait Riders will work on all 3 gaits and have independent control of their mounts. English pleasure Class will include work on the diagonals, canter leads, seat, hands and ring etiquette. Advanced riders will work on show ring polish and hand gallop. ENGLISH TACK 3 gait Riders will continue working on balance, seat & hands. Use of the leg will be emphasized. Includes recognizing the proper leads and ring etiquette. Riders should be ready to work on show ring polish, including seat and hands at all 3 gaits. Bring questions to class to ask the instructor. WESTERN TACK Other definitions

Horse Care Essentials (Horse Care)This class covers the basic day to day needs of every horse. Good horse keeping, what to watch for health wise, daily inspection of the horse, common ailments and good preventive care.

Tack Cleaning Beginners will be instructed how to clean their tack correctly. Others may want to take this class to clean their tack at the end of the day.

Arts & Crafts Waushara County members. If you signed up for any of these as your 4-H projects you can sign up on your fair entry and get some done at camp Drawing and painting Learn how to draw/paint horses & improve your drawing ability.

Leather craft Come to this class to make a couple of leather items (key fob, bookmark, bracelet, etc.) and use horse theme stamps to decorate them.

Model horse Learn all about model horses & how to show them.

Photography In the Photography class, we are going to look at what it takes to take really great pictures of your horses. We will talk about everything you will need, from the supplies you need to have handy, how to get the best look out of your horse, and how to use the settings on your camera. For this class each participant will need to have a digital camera. Any point and shoot digital camera will be fine, you don't need fancy equipment.
