SEASON DATE TEAM VERSUS GOALIE 1 GOALIE 2 TIME SHOTS ENG? OTHER QUESTION CURRENTLY IN DATABASE 6768 10/14/1967 DET MON Roger Crozier George Gardner x Why did Gardner replace Crozier at 29:53 - was it coach's decision? Score was 5- 0 Montreal, although Montreal scored at 26:07 and Gardner didn't enter until 29:53. 6768 10/15/1967 MIN LOS Garry Bauman Cesare Maniago x NHL has Maniago enter at 48:11 - Los Angeles scored at 46:07 to go up 4-1. Assuming this is coach's decision but would be nice to be sure. 6768 12/30/1967 STL TOR Seth Martin Don Caley x What time did Martin leave with his groin injury? NHL box score has 30:00 exactly Martin 25:28, Caley 34:32. for both goalies, which seems too coincidental. 6768 1/30/1968 TOR MON Johnny Bower Bruce Gamble X NHL has Gamble playing 0:57; Montreal Gazette has Gamble playing "53 seconds during the third period". When exactly and why? 6768 1/31/1968 LOS MIN Terry Sawchuk Wayne Rutledge X NHL has Sawchuk finishing the second period - did he leave at Parise goal 38:52 Sawchuk 40:00, Rutledge 20:00 or finish the period? 6768 3/6/1968 TOR PHI Bruce Gamble Johnny Bower X NHL says Bower played for 1:43 (Camden Courier Times says "for a minute") - when did this happen and why? 6768 3/9/1968 TOR DET Bruce Gamble Johnny Bower X NHL has Bower playing for 0:51. When did this happen and why? 6768P 4/11/1968 NYR CHI Ed Giacomin X NY Times suggests final (Marotte) goal was ENG: "In the final minute, Gil Giacomin 6 GA (one ENG). Marotte…pitchforked a 150-foot shot from beyond the Black Hawks' blue line into an unattended net." NHL.com does not have Giacomin with an ENG - is this an error? 6869 11/16/1968 TOR CHI Bruce Gamble Johnny Bower x Bower replaced Gamble for 2:57 of first period (Gamble was being stitched up). When exactly? 6869 12/14/1968 BOS CHI Gerry Cheevers Joe Junkin x x The Bruins' 10th goal was at 52:04, which would be a logical time for Junkin to Cheevers 52:04, Junkin 7:56 enter. NHL box score has 51:04 which could be a typo (does not line up with their previously reported 8 career minutes). When did the switch happen, and was it a coach's decision? 6869 12/15/1968 OAK CHI Gary Smith Chris Worthy x The NHL's updated database gives Gary Smith the loss instead of Chris Worthy - I Chris Worthy gets the loss. believe that this is an error. Chicago Tribune has Worthy replacing Smith at the Doug Mohns goal at 27:18, which matches the times in the new NHL box score. Mohns' goal was Chicago's fourth. Since Chicago won 7-4, Worthy's first GA would give him the loss. 6869 1/19/1969 TOR BOS Bruce Gamble Johnny Bower x When did Gamble leave for 7:40 of time in the third period? Tremblay says 46:07 definitively. 6869 1/23/1969 TOR STL Bruce Gamble Johnny Bower x When did Gamble leave for 3:08 (NHL) or 3:12 (St. Louis Post Dispatch) late in Went with 3:08 (per NHL). the second period? 6869 3/9/1969 MIN STL Cesare Maniago Fern Rivard x St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Maniago (rib injury) played 0:00 to 14:48, 20:00 to 24:42. Went with Post-Dispatch. Rivard was in net for GTG (31:46). NHL has Rivard 29:57, Maniago 30:03 - why? 6970 12/6/1969 STL DET Jacques Plante Ernie Wakely x Wakely replaced Plante at 29:12 (Detroit's third goal). NHL box has Plante with Plante 14/17, Wakely 9/11 6/9, which seems very low shots faced for half the game. Tremblay has 16/19. How many shots per period? 6970 12/13/1969 STL LOS Jacques Plante Ernie Wakely x Wakely played the third period in St. Louis' 8-1 win at Los Angeles. Coach's decision? 6970 1/23/1970 TOR OAK Bruce Gamble Gerry McNamara x Tremblay has Gamble 28/34. NHL box score has Gamble 33/39, which would Gamble 33/39, McNamara 0/0 mean McNamara had 0 shots faced in 10:12 (seems unlikely). 6970 2/21/1970 PIT OAK Al Smith Joe Daley X Daley replaced Smith at the third Oakland goal. HSP has third goal at 11:44; NHL Smith 11:44, Daley 48:16 box has third goal at 11:34. 6970 3/29/1970 PIT STL Les Binkley Al Smith X HSP and NHL both have Binkley at 40:46; NHL also has Smith 19:12. Is there Binkley 40:46, Smith 19:12 confirmation that the switch occurred at 40:46 (and not 40:48)? 6970 3/29/1970 LOS MIN Denis DeJordy Wayne Rutledge X Switch at 30:25 doesn't line up with goal. Was it coach's decision? 7071 10/12/1970 VAN STL Dunc Wilson George Gardner x x At 49:51, Wilson left the game after taking a shot to the head. Most sources say Wilson 59m29s 34/38, Gardner 0m31 2/2 that Gardner replaced Wilson for 31 seconds, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (who was the only source of mine actually at the game) says that Gardner finished the game. Did Gardner return? 7071 10/17/1970 CAL LOS Gary Smith Bob Sneddon x Sneddon entered the game at 45:40. Shots/saves? Smith 22/28, Sneddon 5/5 7071 10/30/1970 BUF CAL Joe Daley Roger Crozier x x x HSP has Daley with 26:35 - this doesn't line up with a goal against. When and Daley 26m35s 16/18, Crozier 33m25s 26/30 why did Daley leave the game? Shots/saves? 70/71 11/7/1970 TOR VAN Jacques Plante Bruce Gamble x Gamble entered the game at 28:26. Shots/saves? Plante 15/16, Gamble 14/16 7071 11/8/1970 MON BOS Rogie Vachon Phil Myre x Myre entered the game at 22:39. Shots/saves? Vachon 13/17, Myre 29/31 7071 11/14/1970 CAL PIT Gary Smith Bob Sneddon x x x I believe that HSP has a time error, and that Smith left at 35:48 (the fifth Penguins Smith 35m48s 20/25, Sneddon 24m12s 14/15 goal) and not 34:12. Is this correct (and if it is 34:12, then why did Smith leave)? Shots/saves? 7071 11/18/1970 TOR BUF Bruce Gamble Murray McLachlan x McLachlan entered the game at 48:12. Shots/saves? Gamble 20/26, McLachlan 5/6 7071 11/19/1970 CAL PHI Gary Smith Bob Sneddon x Sneddon entered the game at 49:26. Shots/saves? Smith 26/31, Sneddon 6/7 7071 11/21/1970 CAL TOR Bob Sneddon Gary Smith x Smith entered the game at 25:21. Shots/saves? Sneddon 13/16, Smith 16/17 7071 12/6/1970 DET STL Roy Edwards Don McLeod x McLeod entered the game at 37:59. Shots/saves? Edwards 18/21, McLeod 8/9 SEASON DATE TEAM VERSUS GOALIE 1 GOALIE 2 TIME SHOTS ENG? OTHER QUESTION CURRENTLY IN DATABASE 7071 12/20/1970 BUF TOR Joe Daley Roger Crozier x Crozier entered the game at 43:46. Shots/saves? Toronto Star says that Crozier Daley 23/26, Crozier 12/13 made "16 big saves", but that would imply that Daley only saw one shot (the Harrison goal). 7071 12/26/1970 CAL LOS Gary Smith Bob Sneddon x Okay, this one's a puzzler (and see the line below as well). Per the Long Beach Smith 30m38s 14/21, Sneddon 29m22s 18/20 (L) (Smith Independent Press Telegram, Smith started this game, was pulled at 10:38 (with returns) the score 3-0 LA) and re-entereed the game at the start of the third period down 5- 2. Los Angeles won, 9-3, so the loss definitively goes to Sneddon. However, that definitively gives Sneddon three losses (his official NHL record has two). I'm looking for any evidence that the official record is correct (since I believe it is not). Also see: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showpost.php?p=114925167 7071 CAL Bob Sneddon x In addition to the extra loss (credited officially to Smith), I believe that Sneddon has seven games played (not five, as the official tally shows). Those games are 10/11, 10/17, 11/14, 11/19, 11/21, 11/22 and 12/26 Looking for any evidence that Sneddon did *not* play on one of these dates. Also see: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showpost.php?p=114925167 7071 12/31/1970 DET CHI Jim Rutherford Don McLeod x McLeod entered the game at 27:54. Shots/saves? Rutherford 18/23, McLeod 13/16 7071 1/2/1971 DET TOR Jim Rutherford Don McLeod x McLeod entered the game at 16:06. Shots/saves? Rutherford 11/14, McLeod 25/35 7071 1/12/1971 CAL STL Gary Smith Chris Worthy x Worthy entered the game at 31:09. Shots/saves? Smith 15/20, Worthy 16/19 7071 1/14/1971 LOS BOS Denis DeJordy Jack Norris x x HSP shows Norris entering the game at 21:23 (the time of the fourth Boston goal).
