A conservative group called Citizens for Sensible Rights collected enough signatures to force a referendum. "Today is the day when Denver said fairness and equity is for everyone," declared Tony Ogden, co-director of the committee to retain the ordinance. "Liberty and justice is for all and there are no exceptions. I've never been as proud of Denver as I am now." NGRA Ends Legal Services [San Francisco, CA]- National Gay Rights Advocates (NGRA), a public interest law firm that has won many court battles against anti-Gay and AIDS-based discrimination, closed its doors in mid-May.
