APRIL 2014 – JUNE 2014

Collaborative team teaching support intended for preschool and primary school students continued and was completed on June 13th.

All five educators involved in the collaborative team teaching support of the Program (3 for preschool and 2 for primary education) collaborated with the class teacher during the daily school program, in order to facilitate the equitable involvement of Decoration of an Easter card and Easter crafts. interesting places, such as the Eiffel Tower, London On the occasion of the World Book Day, the Eye, Disneyland, Fontana di Trevi, Vatican and so students of the 2nd kindergarten of Menemeni and on. their teacher decided to write their own book. The class was inspired by reading the book Mary the Pin

(in Greek: Η Μαίρη πινέζα) and especially by the repetitive phrase "...she thought so".

The students of the kindergarten decided to let

Mary the Pin travel in other countries and created the 2nd part of the book.

SUPPORT CLASSES

Support classes intended for primary school students of Axis 2 (regions of Central and Western Macedonia) continued and were completed on June

Orestiada, 11th and 15th primary school of Drama, primary schools of Chrysochori and Nea Karya (Kavala), the 2nd primary school of Chrysoupoli (Kavala), the 1st primary school of Didymoteicho and the primary schools of Evlalos, Dekarcho and "We painted the wall of our school." OFFERING CLASSES TO DISABLED ROMA NEW ENROLMENTS FOR SCHOOL YEAR CHILDREN 2014-15.

MORE ACTIVITIES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL UNIT.

[[[Cross-curricular pedagogical interventions through theatre and music started taking place in most schools of the Program in April. These actions were addressed to all students of the school, Roma or not, in the framework of the ordinary school program, with the objective of creating an attractive and collaborating learning environment, which is in favour of the group interactions and achieves the integration of Roma children in the class community.

During the first phase (April – June) cross-curricular approaches took place at 27 schools (5 kindergartens – 22 primary schools) of Axis 2

(Regions of Central and Western Macedonia) from "The journey of Odysseus". Primary School of which benefited 3753 students, Roma or not. Pontismeno (Serres), 1st Primary School of , 2nd Primary School of Ν. Malgara. Similar interventions also took place at 8 primary schools of Axis 1 (Region of Eastern Macedonia and

Thrace) and more specifically at schools of Drama and Kavala Prefecture. From these benefited 451 students.

Additionally, since mid of June, for the purposes of Axis 1, started taking place cross-curricular interventions for the education and integration of Roma children, not anymore in the school units, but in open space and rooms near the settlements - camps in the wider areas of Drama, Kavala, Xanthi, Rodopi, Didymoteicho and Orestiada. These interventions will continue to take place during the summer and they aim at preparing children for attending school the next school year.

Totally 200 children benefit from the actions.

ACTION 3 "Enhancement of the access to Adult Education Centers and to Second Chance Schools"

Literacy classes for Roma adolescents and adults continued to take place and were completed for this year. Roma adults attended the classes with great interest. The literacy classes were carried out in the following action areas of the Program: Event for granting certificates at the 5th primary school of Menemeni. On behalf of the Program, the event  Dendropotamos attended Ms E. Tressou and Ms S. Mitakidou.

In addition to the principal objective of literacy, a parallel objective was the acquisition of primary school leaving certificate. In April and June there Awarding certificates of attendance at the settlement have been carried out exams at state schools for Sagini in Orestiada. the acquisition of primary school leaving certificate and totally 44 Roma adults, both women and men, acquired the certificate.

ACTION 4.3 "Distance training of primary education teachers"

The children, accompanied by collaborators of the Program, psychologists, social workers and educators, as well as by their mothers, were shown round the city, old markets and monuments and participated in many of the festival's actions.
