Ode To : Cinnamon Soho Celebrates Iconic Bollywood Blockbuster’s 40th Anniversary

From the bright lights of Bollywood to the bustling heart of central London, award-winning restaurant Cinnamon Soho is celebrating the 40th anniversary of one of ’s most iconic films – Sholay – with a specially crafted menu to honour the blockbuster classic.

First released in 1975, Sholay is still the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Dubbed ‘The Godfather’ of Indian cinema, it was the first CinemaScope movie that changed Bollywood forever. The action-adventure film follows two former petty thieves – Jai and Veeru – recruited by a retired police officer to capture a ruthless bandit for a handsome reward. , played by Amjad , is still the most popular villain in the history of Hindi cinema and his powerful portrayal and piercing looks are etched in cinematic history.

Executive Chef Vivek Singh’s modern-Indian restaurant has been inspired by the characters, colours and flavours of this record-breaking box office-smash. Guests can take their pick of any number of dishes from the limited-edition menu, which runs Monday to Saturday from 11am until 11pm throughout August.

A refreshing herbal and spiced Indian G&T will also be served, whilst Ab Goli Kha (chocolate and cardamom bullets), will end the meal with a sweet treat from the East.
