The Copernicus emergency management service monitors flooding in Greece 1 / 4 On 12 January the Alfeios River, located in the Ilia Prefecture in western Greece, overflowed and flooded vast rural areas near the villages of Sekoulas, Dafnoula, Makrisia, Kalivakia, Frixa and Aspra Spitia. The Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping component was activated on 14 January to produce emergency maps over two Areas of Interest (AoIs).
