Chief Ministers of India - GK Notes in PDF The Chief Ministers of India are the heads of their respective state governments. There are Chief Ministers in India in every one of the twenty-nine states and even in two Union Territories (Delhi and Puducherry). Following elections to the state legislative assembly, the governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government in the state. KSCF has been working in those areas since 2005 and have made approximately 300 habitations completely child labour free with 100% enrollment. Enactment of Child Labour (Prohibition and Prevention) Amendment Act, 2016 is a landmark step in the Endeavour to have a child labour free society that provides for complete prohibition on employment of children below 14 years in all occupations and processes and prohibits employment of adolescents (14-18 years) in hazardous occupations and processes.

Shri Virbhadra Singh was a member of the 3rd and 4thLok Sabha representing the Mahasu Parliamentary Constituency and 5th, 7th and 15th Lok Sabha representing the Mandi Parliamentary Constituency of Himachal Pradesh. Shri Virbhadra Singh had served as Union Cabinet Minister of Steel and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation and Minister of State of Industries in the Government of India. An active social and political worker, Shri Virbhadra Singh was the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for six terms. He had also served as Leader of Opposition in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Shri Virbhadra Singh passed away on 8 July, 2021 in Shimla at the age of 87 years. Shri Nityananda Misra was a member of the 7th and 8th Lok Sabha representing the Bolangir Parliamentary Constituency of Odisha. Shri Nityananda Misra passed away on 22 July, 2021 in Bhubaneswar at the age of 93 years. Prof. Gopalrao Mayekar was a member of the 9th Lok Sabha representing the Panaji Parliamentary Constituency of Goa. He was a Member of the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Private Members’ Bills and Resolutions. Earlier, Prof. Mayekar was a Member of the Goa, Daman & Diu Legislative Assembly and he also served as a Minister in the Government of Goa, Daman & Diu.

Mishra (Retd.) attended the 33 rd Statehood Day celebration of the State at Itanagar on 20 th February 2019. The Governor unfurled the national flag and took the salute from the Guards of Honour. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that statehood paved way for speedy development. Today, the central government under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has special focus and consideration for the development of the State of Arunachal Pradesh. The Central Government and State Government under Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu have been putting in their best efforts to electrify every village, provide toilet in every house, road to every village and gas connection to every kitchen. It is to be mentioned, Government of India had recently constituted a high level committee consisting of chief ministers to achieve the target of doubling of farmers income by 2022. Chief Minister Sonowal, in his speech, said that Prime Minister Modi had taken pragmatic steps for doubling farmers’ income right after assuming office for the first time in 2014 and now the constitution of this high level committee would make positive impact towards achieving the goal by 2022. ‘Terms of Reference’ set by the committee were also very timely which would boost the agriculture sector of the Northeast region and increased agricultural production would help the country achieve the target of being a 5 trillion economy, he opined.
