Cracow-Łagiewniki 10th July 2020 , I trust in You! Rev. Fr. Mariusz Fukś The Most Holy Trinity 720 Telfair Street Augusta Georgia 30903 USA

Dear Reverend Father, On behalf of the Mother General of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy, I have the joy of informing you about our positive response to your request for St. Faustina’s relic for public veneration for the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Augusta in USA. We are granting you a piece of her relic ex ossibus, because of the lively practice of the devotion to Divine Mercy and the veneration to St. Faustina present in your parish. We thank you for inviting St. Faustina to your parish and rejoice that it will now be under her particular protection and care. We believe that by means of her relic, her spiritual presence will contribute to a deeper understanding of the mystery of Divine Mercy among your parishioners. Thus, making St. Faustina’s desire written in her “Diary” come true: I desire to go throughout the whole world and speak to souls about the great mercy of God (D 491). This is my mission, which You Yourself have entrusted me, O Lord, in this life and in the life to come (D 1325). May St. Faustina become, for the inhabitants of your parish, a guide leading to God who is rich in Mercy and an intercessor for obtaining grace. May this time of waiting for her relic be, for the parish, a period spent in coming to know St. Faustina and the prophetic message of mercy that she passes on to our contemporary world. Therefore, we fervently request that the day of welcoming St. Faustina’s relic into the parish be marked by a solemn celebration and that beforehand, parishioners receive spiritual preparation for that happy moment when, for good, the Parish receives St. Faustina in the sign of her relic. May the following words of St. John Paul II from his last pilgrimage to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Cracow accompany your parishioners at this time: This fire of mercy needs to be passed on to the world. In the mercy of God the world will find and mankind will find happiness! And his words spoken in Błonie Park, Cracow: The hour has come when the message of Divine Mercy is able to fill hearts with hope and to become the spark of a new civilization: the civilization of love. Connued on the next page We therefore wish you many blessed fruits from this event. May it bring about the deepening of devotion to Divine Mercy among your parishioners, that is to say that the devotion become their very own lifestyle—an example of which St. Faustina gave and to which Jesus Himself invites us. May devotion to Divine Mercy, which today decides the destiny of the world and of every man and woman, ceaselessly revive the ministries in your parish. May it lead to a more intimate relationship with Jesus, opening it to an experience of His merciful love. May the presence of St. Faustina by means of her relic fill the hearts of all your parishioners with joy, for the Lord Jesus said: For your sake, I grant blessings to this whole vicinity (D. 719), for your sake I will bless the earth (D. 431). We warmly invite you, Reverend Father, or your representative with your written authorization, to come to the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Cracow-Łagiewniki to collect the Relic of St. Faustina. Once again we make our most heartfelt request to you, Reverend Father, that the relic be permanently placed in the parish church for public veneration and that it be kept in a reliquarium, enclosed in a special glass case to protect it against theft and profanation. This way, the faithful will always have access to St. Faustina during their prayers in Church and may experience her intercession before God who is rich in mercy. We also request that Mass and devotions in honor of Divine Mercy and St. Faustina be celebrated regularly in your parish throughout the year (for example, every Third Friday of the month). During these services, among others, passages from the Diary may be read, the Litany of Divine Mercy or the Litany of St. Faustina may be recited or sung and the service may finish with veneration of her relic. We kindly remind you that relics are sacred objects, a divine gift, thus they are not for sale. Relic preparation, however, involves some costs. And so we would be most grateful for any donation given for that purpose. You may, if you wish, purchase from us special gilded reliquaries. Our heartfelt greetings to you, Reverend Father, and to your entire Shrine community. Be assured that we remember you in our prayers especially before the Miraculous Image of the Merciful Jesus and the tomb of St. Faustina here at the Shrine of Divine Mercy in Cracow!

Sincerely yours in Christ,

s. M. Norberta Ruchała OLM
