Directory entry Kelly 1865 (1920s or nearest date) The National School for boys and girls and infants was erected in 1855 by subscription; it is for the education of children belonging to the parishes of Ashwicken and Leziate. Kelly 1883 National School, for boys, girls & infants, was erected in 1855, by subscription: it is for children belonging to the parishes of Ashwicken & Leziate; Miss Sadler, mistress. White 1883 p.125 National School with teacher's house attached, built 1845 and subsequently enlarged. Kelly 1896 National School (mixed), erected in 1885, for 60 children belonging to the parishes of Ashwicken & Leziate; average attendance, 48; Miss Florence Mary Powell, mistress. The hatched area is the 1911 building. The phasing of the additions connected to the original building is difficult to determine. The southwest detached building is a Portakabin. The northeast detached Eco building post-dates the 2009 Google Earth survey.
