    ISSN: 2456–5474 RNI No.UPBIL/2016/68367 Vol.-5* Issue-6* July- 2020 Sports and Education Status among The Tribes Young Women: Issues and Challenges Paper Submission: 15/07/2020, Date of Acceptance: 25/07/2020, Date of Publication: 26/07/2020 Abstract The purpose of the paper is to analyze the situation of the tribal women education and sports status in India. The tribal women, constitute like any other social group, about half of the total population. The tribal women, as women in all social groups, are more illiterate than men. Like others social groups, the tribal women share problems related to reproductive health. When primary and secondary subsistence activities are counted, women work more than men. Status of women varies in different societies. This is home to over 1.3 billion people scattered across the length and breadth of the country. Though we have a diverse set of religions, culture, background, habits, and preferences, one thing which binds us is the love for sports. Moreover, tribal have evolved engaging in hunting and food gathering. This makes them great outdoor persons, with a particular affinity for sports. They engage in collective activities from repairing houses to working in the paddy fields, which is another factor that develops their sporting attitude, but there are many critical issues and problems in the field of tribal women education and sports, they are: Location of the Village, Attitude of the Parents, Negative Attitude towards School Education, Poor Economic Condition etc. Despite several economic, political and social changes, women, are still far behind.

The grand event hosted in New Delhi on Tuesday 12th July saw high-profile dignitaries from the Govt. of India, Ministry, Youth Affair & Sports, Hockey legends and media & press wish good luck to the selected athletes who will represent Indian Hockey at Rio. My heart is filled with huge gratude and pride to see the kind of talent we have in our hockey teams today – whether the Mens or Womens team. This is the start of a promising future for Indian Hockey. I am upbeat that we will witness performances of the highest quality over the course of the Rio Olympics from both the men and the women's teams. Talking about Olympics, we are all filled with memories of the illustrious past which we aim to reclaim and with the recent performances on the Internaonal arena we are geng closer to it. I would like to convey my hearelt admiraon to the coaches and support staff who ensured no stone is le unturned in exposing the teams to rigorous pracce sessions, making sure the teams get the best internaonal exposure and training ahead of the all-important Olympic Games. Their efforts have contributed in raising the overall standard of hockey in the country. The recent performance by the men's team at the FIH Champions Trophy, where they won the Silver medal, has gathered tremendous following and support from Indians around the world.
