(hereinafter “SBS”) as a network infrastructure for J.League simultaneous broadcasting utilizing the IP live transmission technology “IP Live Production System”. * For information on “IP Live Production System” and “J.League Simultaneous Broadcasting”, please refer TOKAI COM’s press release as per attached. TOKAI COM’s BroadLine offers communications service between bases and connection service to major public clouds to corporations by using TOKAI Group’s fiber-optic network. Backed by recent increasing demand of high-speed internet communications and cloud computing services, the number of lines provided is steadily increasing. TOKAI Holdings will continue to focus this business as TOKAI Group’s major business in areas of information and communications services for corporations. (hereinafter “SBS”) as infrastructure of simultaneous broadcasting of MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE 2018 (16th Sec) utilizing IP live transmission technology on July 18, 2018. 1. Background To correspond to the 4K / 8K broadcasting which the broadcasting industry is currently facing, SBS has adopted IP live transmission technology “IP Live Production System” of Sony Business Solutions Corporation (hereinafter “Sony Business Solutions”) to realize IP broadcasting system as a pioneer in the industry, and has commenced its operation looking ahead of the coming 4K/8K era. Since May 2017, SBS, Sony Business Solutions, and the Company have repeatedly performed operation tests of remote production utilizing the merits of IP live transmission. In March 2018, Japan’s first television broadcast (J.League broadcast) utilizing the IP broadcasting system was conducted. Securing significant amount of resources such as allocating broadcast vans, equipment, and numerous staffs on sites has been necessary in sports broadcasting in the past. The use of IP broadcasting system, however, will allow images, sounds, and control signals of stadiums to be controlled by SBS headquarters, thus realizing broadcasts with fewer staff and equipment. Since high-bandwidth and low-latency communication line is necessary to implement the operation of the system, SBS adopted the Company’s BroadLine “Ethernet Dedicated Line”, realizing a stable IP live transmission. 2. Summary of Service Adopted SBS will simultaneously live broadcast this time from two stadiums, “IAI Stadium Nihondaira” and “Yamaha Stadium”, both located in Shizuoka Prefecture, at the MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE 2018 (16th sec) on Wednesday, July 18, 2018. As its transmission infrastructure, the Company’s BroadLine “Ethernet Dedicated Line” was adopted. (1) Name of service : BroadLine “Ethernet Dedicated Line” (2) Summary of service provided : Provision of dedicated line service connecting each of the following two sections by the Ethernet method; (a) from IAI Stadium Nihondaira (3880-1 Muramatsu, Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka-shi, Shizuoka) to SBS Headquarters, (b) from Yamaha Stadium (2500 Shingai, Iwata-shi, Shizuoka) to SBS Headquarters 3. Unlike the previous communications service which has been provided by transmitting video signals such as the HD-SDI / DVB-ASI through baseband transmission, the service in this example is provided by transmitting all images, sounds, and control signals through IP and the Ethernet Dedicated Line. The Company is capable of offering high-quality, high-broadband, and low-latency communications service at a reasonable price, allowing customers to flexibly use the service as transit lines in broadcasting stations which include integration (concentration) of various lines which had been available according to the number of various signals, interactive communications, and establishment of additional channels. The Company will continue providing optimal network services to its customers by leveraging its technology and expertise backed by strong track record of installations and operations at many adopting companies including SBS. 4.
