Mr – Beadle of the workhouse Scene 1 with Corney: pg 14-15 No.5 ‘Boy for Sale’ – whole song Scene 2 with Corney: pg 81-82 Range: D3-A4 Bumble oversees the children in the workhouse and is the driving force behind Oliver’s sale to the funeral parlour. He is a pompous man, very full of his own importance but he can’t win with Widow Corney in Act 2.

Widow Corney – Workhouse matron Scene 1 with Bumble: pg 14- No.4 ‘I Shall Scream’ – from pickup 15 to B2 to the end Range: D4-G5 Starts off as rather a demure individual in Scene 2 with Bumble: pg 81- the face of Bumble’s affections, yet reveals 82 herself later to be a sharp-tongued, domineering woman who knows what she wants and how to get it.
