Movie Review of Ra.One Release Date: 26 October, 2011 Sunil Chaudhary Roll No. 12738 Cast:  Shahrukh Khan as Shekhar Subramaniam/G.one  Kareena Kapoor as Sonia Subramaniam  Armaan Verma as Prateek(son of Shekhar and Sonia)  Tom Wu and Arjun Rampal both as Ra.one

Theme: The movie is about a combat game in which the villain of the game “Ra.One” turns real i.e. comes into real world to kill his opponent Lucifer (Prateek’s name in the virtual world) and then to save the Lucifer from Ra.one, the hero of the game “G.one” also comes into the real world from game.

Review: The start of the movie is fine and for about first 15-20 minutes, it creates interest as to what movie is about. One cannot decide whether it is comedy or sci-fi or some game related. It is after some time that movie reveals itself and we know that it is about a game.

One can definitely say that the storyline and script of movie are very weak. There are many clips in the movie that have been added whose presence do not affect the movie. To show extra coolness double meaning content has also been added though it is a children’s movie. Some clips like introduction between Chitti (Rajnikant) and G.one or Prateek controlling G.one makes no sense. Instead of these, writer should have added something new or should have increased the length of other important scenes like end of movie.

Similarly the game which they have designed has nothing new. It is a simple combat game. Some characters have shown poor acting like Tom Wu as Ra.one or Dalip Tahil as Shekhar’s Boss. Also, there should be some coordination between the expressions of Ra.one and G.one. Either both should have acted humanly after coming in the real world or both should have acted game like characters.

Now talking of VFX (Visual Effects) and background music, both are awesome and probably best in till now (apart from 3). The ending of the movie is not as effective as it should be. Overall the movie can only be said as the technological success. Songs of the movie are also good and a mix of sad, melody and party songs.
