Balls in Motion … Cleaning in Action HVS SYSTEM: THE INNOVATOR

“Imagine tiny elastic cleaning brush devices circulating constantly and consistently along a certain critical part of an artery. As there is constant brushing, cholesterol fat would not be able to deposit on the inner surface – hence keeping the arterial passage free from blockages. This is the very principle of how HVS System keeps the tubes clean.”

“Arteries blocked with cholesterol fat will affect blood flow pattern and require the heart to pump extra hard for blood to flow through. Similarly, choked-up tubes would also need the pump and compressor to work much harder to drive the fluid through the tubes, increasing energy consumption.”

For inventing the automatic cleaning system with its related cleaning devices, Mr. Chow has won the inaugural Environment Council (SEC) – Senoko Power Green Innovations Award June 2005. He is also a recipient of the EDB’s Startup Enterprise Development Scheme (SEEDS) in Oct 2005.

HVS SYSTEM: THE WORKING PRINCIPLE Driven by the inherent cooling water flow through the heat exchanger, the mechanical movements of appropriately proportioned, sized and weighted HVS Brush Balls® bounce and rotate with high velocity, constantly scrubbing and removing the dirt and scales in the heat exchanger tubes.

The foulants in the tubes are then brushed and flushed out by these balls as they dynamically scrub and work their way along the tubes. Due to the removal being a physical and mechanical process and HVS Brush Balls being smaller than the internal diameter of tubes, it is not subject to any pressure loss across heat exchanger, the variability of fluid chemistry and flow velocity. Hence, this method of cleaning is robust and highly reliable which can cater for particulate, 1.0 mm thick of slime fouling will cause 30% more energy to chemical deposition, biological foulings all at once. be consumed as compared to clean tubes. The slime acts as insulation – reducing heat transfer efficiency HVS Automatic Brush Ball Tube Cleaning System

HVS SYSTEM: THE BENEFITS HVS Automatic Tube Cleaning System prevents dirt accumulation on heat transfer tube surface. Once the HVS Brush Balls enter the tubes, they move along under the motive force of water without the need for additional energy input or pumping force. HVS System is designed to maintain continuous circulation of HVS Brush Balls to ensure that the internal surfaces of tubes are constantly and consistently cleansed. The benefits of HVS Systems have been extensively documented and verified to save energy in the magnitude of 5%-30%. HVS System provides an effective “green” method of eliminating microfouling and macrofouling problem, thus eliminating significant energy and water wastage, reducing environmental impact & decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. HVS System is suitably design to retrofit on existing equipment and immediately can improve efficiency and extend their operational life span. HVS Systems have been proven to mitigate macrofouling manifested in seawater-based industrial heat exchangers use in Oil & Gas sector, Petrochemical Plants and Marine & Shipping industry.
