Zwei Geschichten in einem Band, die Titelstory ist ein ziemlich einfallsloses Kolonialabenteuer, in dem lediglich das Marsupilami für einige Farbtupfer gut ist. Dafür ist die Ferienfahrt mit Hindernissen, in der Verlauf ein farbenblinder Scheich den blauen Turbot von Spirou und Fantasio mit seinem roten verwechselt, ein Höhepunkt der Reihe, sowohl die Amokfahrt des Wüstensohnes als auch Fantasios De Dion mit seinen zahlreichen Gimmicks. Leider macht die Ferienfahrt gerade mal ein Viertel des Bandes aus, sonst hätte es doch zum vierten Stern gereicht.

Opgelet: achterhaalde visies op Afrika en haar bewoners in overvloed, maar deze strip is dan ook van 1959. Als je die buiten beschouwing laat, is dit een solide verhaal.
En zoals wel vaker bij deze albums is er een bonus-verhaal: "Een rustige vacantie". Waarin Franquin zich uitleeft in het tekenen van auto's.

Pas hyper fan de la première histoire avec les gorilles. Je pense que l'histoire est trop courte, trop rapide, trop bâclée, c'est dommage. La deuxième est rigolote, le magnat du pétrole est très drôle, j'aime bien la voiture de Fantasio et on fait même la connaissance de Gaston!

Ei tämä samalla tasolle edeltävin Piko & Fantasioiden kanssa päässyt ja varsinkin lisänä oleva lyhäri on taas vähän heikohko. Mutta taide oli mitä parasta.

Le gorille a bon mine is none other than Fantasio disguised as one of them in order to study them from closer quarters! It is a charming story and has a lot of funny scenes that are very out dated, though very true to the spirit of those times. I hope one day i will get my chance to go visit, if not stay for a while.
