On 10th October a team of lead- ers from 1st Liphook gave a presentation to the eligible members and their parents about the plans for an interna- tional camp in 2013.

All members that will be 11 years old in January 2013 were invited to the Scout HQ for an evening outlining the plans to hold a joint camp with Greek Scouts on the island of Kefalonia. Bryan Jack- son welcomed all those who at- tended and showed a short slide show of pictures from 2011 Scout camp in Cheshire. This year has seen major changes to the way we collect our membership subscription and I am aware that this has not been a smooth transition. I apologise for the errors at our end. Following a review we have put processes in place to address the issues. The change has put considerable pressure on our treasurer and other members of our executive committee and you can help to make this easier in the future. If you have not done so please set up a standing order to pay your child’s subscription. This is payable quarterly during January, April, July and Octo- ber. If this is not possible please pay £22.50 per child during the relevant month. These payments can be placed in post box situated in the HQ. If you need details for setting up the stand- ing order please contact me. On a more positive note we have a fantastic Scout Group and Saturday 18th have events scheduled in 2012 as part of a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Group. Report by UNVEILED Trevor Holden

Congratulations to Max Stephens from Shackleton Troop with his winning design. His design was picked by judges Mike King and Mary West, founder members of 1st Liphook, as the winner of the competition run to find a badge to commemorate the Group’s 40th Anniversary. After a slow response initially a total of just under 100 entries to the competition were entered. Members will be able to wear the badge for the whole of 2012 on the right sleeve of their uniform.
