Dear Members of Acorn Park Community for Well-Being:

Thank you for your letter to Attorney General regarding your concerns of the Sponsors program's proposed housingproject in your neighborhood.

Unfortunately, the Oregon Department of Justice (DOJ) is not the proper agency to address your concerns. Neither the Attomey General nor the Oregon Department of Justice have jurisdiction with regard to housing projects in Oregon, nor do we have authority over the Oregon Department of Housing and Community Services (OHCS). It appears from your enclosed letter that you have already contacted OHCS, which is the proper agency to direct your concerns.

You may also wish to work with a private attorney to resolve this matter. You can call the Lawyer Referral Service from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays at (503) · 684-3763 in Portland or toll-free elsewhere in Oregon at (800) 452-7636.

Additionally, you may wish to contact your local legislators with regard to the budget and funding for this project. I have provided contacts for both your Representatives and Senators below.
